Collapsible combustion container devices and associated methods
Collapsible combustion containers are disclosed and described. Such combustion containers generally include a first pair of vertically oriented panels joined by a hinge and a second pair of vertically oriented panels joined by a hinge. The pairs of panels are hinged to one another to form a closed perimeter with a box like shape. One panel of the first pair may further include a relief space feature that creates a relief space so that the second pair of panels may be folded flat between the panels of the first pair when the container is collapsed for storage. Such combustion containers may burn a variety of fuels, including wood and other combustible matter, and be used as a portable stove or heating device and are especially useful during activities such as camping or backpacking, and for emergency preparedness reasons.
REFRACTORY COOKING DEVICES
A cooking device may include a refractory oven and a housing. The refractory oven may define a cooking chamber that may be configured to receive thermal energy from an external heat source. The refractory oven may further define an opening configured to allow foodstuffs to be introduced into the cooking chamber. The refractory oven may be further configured to substantially surround the foodstuffs while the foodstuffs are positioned inside the cooking chamber. The housing may at least partially surround the refractory oven. The housing and the refractory oven may define a heated volume between an external surface of the refractory oven and an internal surface of the housing. The heated volume may be configured to receive thermal energy from the external heat source and to reduce transfer of thermal energy from the cooking chamber through refractory oven.
Flow directing device for a cooking appliance
A cooking appliance including an interior, a fan mechanism having at least one fan wheel in the interior, at least one first flow directing member for subdividing the interior into a pressure chamber that houses the fan wheel and a cooking chamber, in which the first flow directing member includes at least one suction port for sucking atmosphere from the cooking chamber into the pressure chamber when the fan wheel is in operation and at least one blow-off port for blowing atmosphere from the pressure chamber into the cooking chamber when the fan wheel is in operation; and at least one second flow directing member that is included with the fan mechanism in the area of the suction port of the first flow directing member in order to improve the flow from the cooking chamber into the pressure chamber by forcing an axial main flow H in the suction zone of the fan mechanism, where the second flow directing member performs a nozzle function, extends from the fan mechanism into the cooking chamber, and overlaps the edge of the suction port of the first flow directing member, and where the first flow directing member extends into the second flow directing member.
FIRE BARRIERS WITH LINKED COVERS FOR CAMPFIRES
Fire barriers including a sidewall, an anchor, and a cover. The sidewall defines a combustion region and a top opening. The sidewall is configured to surround and laterally isolate the combustion region inside the sidewall from the environment outside the sidewall. The anchor has a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The first end is configured to be anchored into the ground. The anchor is linked to the sidewall proximate the second end. The cover is moveably mounted to the anchor between the first end and the second end. The cover is complementarily configured with the sidewall to cover the top opening when the cover is selectively moved along the anchor to a cover position overlying the top opening and resting on the sidewall. In some examples, the fire barrier includes a grate supported on the sidewall.
Oven accessory for a fire pit
A cooking system includes a fire pit having a burn chamber and includes an oven disposed above the burn chamber of the fire pit. The oven may include an open bottom forming a heatable chamber spaced from the burn chamber of the fire pit, with the heatable chamber configured to receive heat from the fire pit. A cooking surface is disposed in the heatable chamber, and an enclosed top is configured to retain the heat. The enclosed top and the cooking surface form a cooking chamber.
