A firepot for a grilling device comprises one or more walls at least partially forming an outer boundary of the firepot. The firepot is structurally configured to hold at least partially ignited solid fuel. The firepot also comprises a floor defining, at least in part, a lower end of the firepot. The floor comprises one or more holes extending through the floor. Additionally, a portion of the one or more walls form a solid fuel delivery opening that comprises a solid fuel portal through which solid fuel is deliverable to an interior of the firepot. A heating element mount is positioned to hold a heating element within the interior of the firepot.

Pellet grills and associated methods of operation are disclosed. An example pellet grill includes a main body defining a cooking chamber. The main body includes a first opening extending through a bottom portion of an outer wall of the main body. The main body further including a grease channel formed along the bottom portion of the outer wall and extending to the first opening. The example pellet grill further includes a burn pot located within the main body. The burn pot includes a lower end having a second opening aligned with the first opening. The second opening is configured to enable pellet fuel ash to pass downwardly from the burn pot onto an ash slide positioned below the second opening. The example pellet grill further includes a waste collection drawer located below the main body. The waste collection drawer is movable relative to the main body between a closed position and an open position. The waste collection drawer includes a grease bin positioned below the first opening and configured to receive grease from the grease channel when the waste collection drawer is in the closed position. The waste collection drawer further includes an ash compartment positioned below the ash slide and configured to receive pellet fuel ash from the burn pot, via the ash slide, when the waste collection drawer is in the closed position.

A portable grill with a battery power system includes a primary direct-current power source and a secondary direct-current power source. The primary power source can connect onto the outside of the grill via a clip. The secondary power source, which can be disposed within the grill so as not to be exposed to outside elements, can continue to power the grill when the user removes and/or replaces the primary power source during the operation of the grill. A user feedback system can remotely alert the user with information regarding the time or power remaining in the primary power source.

A chimney starter booster has an air intake port and an air output port connected by internal ducting in the booster's housing. The air intake port is configured to accept a wireless fan blower. The fan blower supplies directed air through the ducting and out the air output port containing an air deflecting nozzle. A standard chimney starter sits on a top portion of the booster's housing, such that the directed air enters the bottom of the chimney starter to accelerate the burning of the charcoal.

At least one of the burn chamber walls is radially offset with respect to another of the burn chamber walls. At least two longitudinally extending air inlets are formed in the space between a first longitudinal edge of at least one of the burn chamber walls and a second longitudinal edge of another burn chamber wall. Each of the longitudinally extending air inlets tangentially directs an entry of air into the interior burn chamber to induce an interior swirl of air in the interior burn chamber. The interior swirl of air in the interior burn chamber causes a flame of a combusting solid fuel to swirl in the interior burn chamber.

A modular firestarter assembly. The modular firestarter assembly includes a number of modular components configured to be able to join to one another to form the firestarter assembly. The modular components can be broken down to save space. The modular firestarter assembly can be formed from a number of different combinations of the modular components to hold fuel sources and assist in starting a fire.
