The valve body (18) is provided by a foil element (19), wherein the foil element (19) has an opening (20) for the fluid, wherein the foil element (19) is rotatable relative to the modulator body (14) to modulate the flow of the fluid by adjusting an overlap between the opening (20) of the valve body (18) and the flow passage (17) of the modulator body (14), and wherein the foil element (19) is positioned up-stream of the modulator body (14) such that an inlet pressure of the fluid presses the foil element (19) against the modulator body (14) thereby providing a sealing level between the foil element (19) and the modulator body (14).
ANALOG VALVE ACTUATOR, PROGRAMMABLE CONTROLLER, ALARM SYSTEM, AND METHODS FOR THEIR COMBINED USE
An electrically controlled valve which can be operated using a programable controller. A cooperating pair of the electrically controlled valves can be used in a Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO). The electrically controlled valve has two seats, and a blade which can move between a first position contacting the first seat and a second position contacting the second seat. The blade is moved by an actuator which is controlled by a variable frequency drive (VFD). A control computer continuously monitors the operation of both valves and halts operation of the system upon detecting a fault (error). The motion of the blade is programmed such that force of impact on the seat is reduced. Once the blade is seated, a brake is engaged which maintains the stationary position while utilizing relatively low power.

Pipe heating device
A pipe heating device for preventing freezing of pipes includes a controller and a plurality of heating elements. The heating elements are operationally coupled to the controller and each heating element is configured to selectively couple to a respective pipe of a plumbing assembly. The controller is positioned to selectively power the heating element so that the heating element is configured to maintain water that is positioned in the respective pipe in a fluid state.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PROTECTING A SINGLE-STAGE FURNACE IN A MULTI-ZONE SYSTEM
A method of protecting a single-stage furnace in a multi-zone system includes monitoring a temperature of each zone of a plurality of zones, determining if the temperature of at least one zone of the plurality of zones is less than a threshold temperature, powering on the HVAC system to satisfy a heating demand of the zone having a temperature less than the threshold temperature, monitoring an outlet temperature of the single-stage furnace, determining if the outlet temperature is greater than an outlet temperature threshold, and responsive to a determination that the outlet temperature is greater than the outlet temperature threshold, modulating a gas valve to reduce a flow of gas to the single-stage furnace.
