Chemical testing device with a sample chamber having a piston therein with a chamber sealing element thereon
A testing device (10) for testing the level of a selected chemical in central heating system water in a central heating system circuit comprises: a sample chamber (14) for holding a sample of central heating system water to be tested, the sample chamber (14) being connectable (12) to the central heating system circuit to allow fluid to pass between the central heating system circuit and the sample chamber (14); means (16) for controlling filling of the sample chamber (14) with central heating system water from the central heating system circuit, and emptying of the sample chamber (14); at least one valve (18) for isolating the sample of central heating system water from the heating circuit during testing; and optical testing apparatus including a light source (20) and a detector (22), for measuring an optical property of the sample of central heating system water isolated within the sample chamber (14) and thereby making a determination as to whether or not the level of the selected chemical in the water is greater than a predetermined threshold level.
Refilling device for a hydronic heating system and method of operating
Refilling device for a hydronic heating system, having a monolithic housing providing an inlet port, an outlet port, a middle section providing a flow channel for water extending between the inlet port and the outlet port and a connection socket for a softening and/or demineralization cartridge, having an inlet shut-off-valve accommodated within said monolithic housing downstream of said inlet port, having an automatically actuated outlet shut-off-valve accommodated within said monolithic housing upstream of said outlet port, having a system separator with backflow preventers, a conductivity or TDS sensor and a flow meter accommodated within said monolithic housing, and having a controller mounted to said monolithic housing, wherein the controller receives signals from the conductivity or TDS sensor and from the flow meter, wherein the controller processes said signals received from said sensors to automatically control the operation of the refilling device.
Separator device
An in-line fitment for connection of a filter to a pipe includes first and second fluid-carrying portions and a non-fluid-carrying spacer. Each fluid-carrying portion includes a socket for receiving an open end of a pipe and a connector for connection of the filter. A screw compression fitting is provided on each of the sockets of the first and second fluid-carrying portions for forming a sealed connection with the open ends of the pipe. The socket of the first fluid-carrying portion has a pipe receiving depth greater than that of the socket of the second fluid-carrying portion for enabling movement of the fitment parallel to the pipe when engaged with one of the open ends of the pipe. The sockets of the first and second fluid-carrying portions are positioned on a common axis and facing away from each other when the fluid-carrying portions are linked by the spacer.
User interface for thermostat and related devices, systems, and methods
A user interface for a thermostat that controls a radiator valve can include a user input member that is movable from a home position to a set point increase or decrease position to increase or decrease a set point temperature of the thermostat. In some embodiments, a return mechanism returns the user input member to the home position after being released from one of the set point increase and decrease positions. The user interface can include an indicator panel and controller that controls the indicator panel to provide an indication of when the set point temperature of the thermostat is being adjusted. The user interface can also include a lockout controller that prevents further set point temperature adjustments using the user interface when the set point temperature differs from the environmental temperature by a specified amount.
