Single-pipe thermal energy system

Thermal energy systems for managing, distribution and recovery of thermal energy. A single-pipe loop circulating a two-phase refrigerant is provided. The single-pipe loop is spread through the entire system and interconnects a plurality of local heat exchange stations, each having different thermal energy loads. A central circulation mechanism (CCM) is also provided for circulating the refrigerant for distribution of thermal energy within the system.

VENTILATION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

A ventilation system including a ventilator and a processor. The ventilator includes a housing, first intake, second intake, first outlet, second outlet, dampers, first air blower, second air blower, total heat exchanger, and heat exchanger. The processor is configured to change the air flow path of air flowing through the housing from an intake flow path and discharge flow path while in a ventilation mode to a heat exchanger cleaning mode or a total heat exchanger drying mode, in which air in the room flows into the housing through the first outlet, passes through the heat exchanger and then the total heat exchanger, and is discharged to the space outside the room through the second outlet.

A cooling system includes a cooling device having a first cooling coil and a second cooling coil, a first heat transfer fluid in fluid communication with the first cooling coil, a second heat transfer fluid in fluid communication with the second cooling coil, a first heat exchanger in fluid communication with the first heat transfer fluid and the second heat transfer fluid, a second heat exchanger in fluid communication with the second heat transfer fluid and a source of external air, a system of fluid control devices in fluid communication with the second heat transfer fluid and configured to minimize a change in a total pressure drop of the second heat transfer fluid when the cooling system switches between operating modes, and a controller configured to selectively control the cooling device and the system of fluid control devices to operate the cooling system in each of the operating modes.

DISPLACEMENT VENTILATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS

A heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes an air handling unit configured to condition an outdoor air flow to generate a ventilation air flow. The HVAC system includes a terminal unit fluidly coupled to the air handling unit. The terminal unit includes a plenum configured to receive the ventilation air flow and a blower configured to draw a return air flow from a space serviced by the HVAC system across a heat exchanger of the terminal unit and into the plenum to condition the return air flow. The blower is configured to mix the ventilation air flow and the return air flow to generate a supply air flow. A displacement ventilation (DV) diffuser is configured to receive the supply air flow. The DV diffuser is configured to direct the supply air flow through a filter of the DV diffuser and into the space.

A rooftop air conditioning unit includes a cabinet, an energy recovery wheel rotatably mounted within the cabinet, and a controller. The energy recovery wheel can transfer heat between an outdoor air stream and a return air stream when rotated into an operational position and will not transfer heat when rotated into a bypass position. The controller can select the operational position of the energy recovery wheel and an operational mode of the energy recovery wheel.

An air conditioning control system includes a casing including paths through which air passes, dampers arranged at an entrance and an exit of each of the paths and operated to open or close the entrance and the exit according to a control signal, a heat and mass exchanger including a hygroscopic material for absorbing moisture and arranged across the paths to be rotated with respect to the casing, a driving unit rotating the heat and mass exchanger, a heat exchange unit having a heat transfer medium flowing inside the heat exchange unit and arranged on at least one of the paths, and a controller opening or closing the entrance and the exit of the paths by applying a control signal to the dampers, and changing a rotation speed of the heat and mass exchanger by applying a control signal to the driving unit, according to operation modes.

An air-to-air heat pump system for a heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system for a building includes a thermally insulated cool channel for pumping external air into the building, the cool channel having a volume for mixing external air with exhaust air of the building, a warm channel for pumping internal air, the warm channel including a cellular humidifier that restores humidity to internal air, heat pump coils located in the cool channel and the warm channel, the heat pump coils configured for transferring thermal energy from the cold channel to the warm channel, a first fan located in the cool channel and a second fan located in the warm channel, wherein the first and second fans are configured for moving air within a channel, all of the foregoing provided in a monoblock or Split structure located inside, or partially inside, a thermal circuit of the building.

MAKEUP AIR CROSS-FLOW ENERGY RECOVERY SYSTEM ATOP AIR CONDITIONER

An air conditioner unit includes a housing defining an outdoor portion and an indoor portion. A makeup air intake duct and a makeup air exhaust duct are disposed above the housing. The air conditioner unit also includes an air to air heat exchanger. The air to air heat exchanger includes a first inlet side attached to the makeup air intake duct, a second inlet side, a first outlet side, and a second outlet side attached to the makeup air exhaust duct. The air to air heat exchanger also includes one or more alternating top layers and bottom layers. The one or more top layers are in fluid communication with the first inlet side and the first outlet side, and the one or more bottom layers are in fluid communication with the second inlet side and the second outlet side.

Refrigeration cycle apparatus

A refrigeration cycle apparatus includes: a casing; an air handling unit accommodated in the casing and including a first duct and a first outlet, a second duct and a second outlet, a first fan and a second fan; and a refrigerant circuit configured to circulate refrigerant in the refrigerant circuit and including a first heat exchanger and a second heat exchanger.

A heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) unit includes an energy recovery wheel, a first exhaust fan configured to draw a first air flow across the energy recovery wheel and discharge the first air flow from the HVAC unit, a second exhaust fan configured to draw a second air flow across the energy recovery wheel and discharge the second air flow from the HVAC unit, and a controller configured to operate the first exhaust fan and the second exhaust fan in an economizer mode and configured to operate the first exhaust fan and suspend operation of the second exhaust fan in an energy recovery mode.
