INTEGRATED THERMAL COMFORT CONTROL SYSTEM WITH VARIABLE MODE OF OPERATION

A system for controlling thermal comfort in a space is provided with a variable mode of operation. The system may include a conditioner for conditioning air in the space, and a sensor for measuring a temperature in the space. A controller is provided for controlling the conditioner based on the temperature sensed by the sensor, and a fan for circulating air within the space is regulated based on the temperature sensed by the sensor. A related system for controlling a fan based on height is also provided, as is a system and method for easily and efficiently determining the height of a fan using a simple camera, such as one on a “smart” phone. A further aspect pertains to a controller, such as for example a portable handheld device, having a user interface adapted for suggesting an increase in a set point temperature of a thermostat based on the selected speed of the fan.

An air pressure measuring ventilation system, comprising: at least one duct; at least one motorized exhaust fan; one or more ultrasonic sensors; one or more infrared spark detectors; and one or more air pressure sensors. The at least one motorized exhaust fan may draw air through the at least one duct. The one or more air pressure sensors may be placed on a side of the at least one duct such that an air pressure is measured as the air is drawn through the at least one duct, such that a plurality of air pressure measurements are generated. The one or more air pressure sensors may be substantially flush with an interior side of the at least one duct and do not obstruct the air as the air is drawn through the at least one duct.

HVAC ACTUATOR
20170356667 · 2017-12-14 ·

A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system actuator including a stator magnet and a rotor magnet. The rotor magnet turns an axle connected to an airflow door such that rotation of the axle moves the door and generates waveforms. The number of waveforms generated corresponds to how much the axle has rotated. The stator magnet is magnetized to a saturated state, thereby providing the waveforms with a consistent shape that is consistently detectable by a climate control pulse count module.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE VIA A NETWORK

A method and apparatus for providing equipment maintenance are disclosed. For example, the method receives data that is captured by at least one sensor deployed at a location, wherein the data is associated with at least one parameter, receives atmospheric data for the location, monitors the at least one parameter of the equipment and the atmospheric data for the location, determines for the at least one parameter, whether an update to a risk measure associated with the equipment is needed, when a deviation from a baseline is detected that is greater than a threshold for a maximum deviation from the baseline, performs the update to the risk measure associated with the equipment, when the update to the risk measure associated with the equipment is needed, and generates a ticket for a remedial action based on the risk measure, when the risk measure triggers the scheduling of the remedial action.

System, method and apparatus for remote wireless sensor device configuration

A configured mode of operation of a wireless sensor node unit can selectively activate a first subset of sensor channels of data and selectively deactivate a second subset of sensor channels of data. The configured mode of operation customizes the sensor functionality in the wireless sensor node unit in support of the delivery of data streams to customers.

Apparatus and methods for power stealing by controllers
09841203 · 2017-12-12 · ·

A controller for use in a climate control system includes a power stealing circuit connectible with a control of the climate control system and configured for stealing power via a signal from a power source through the control. An overcurrent limiting circuit is configured to limit a first portion of the signal to prevent a false call for operation of the control. The overcurrent limiting circuit is further configured not to limit a second portion of the signal to prevent a false call, where the control is configured to recognize only the first portion as determinative of whether the signal is a call for operation.
