Methods and systems for humidity monitoring and adjustment are described herein. Data from at least one external sensor system is received by a computing device. The external sensor system determines at least one of outdoor air temperature and outdoor air humidity. Data from at least one internal sensor system is received by the computing device. The internal sensor system determines at least one of indoor air temperature and indoor air humidity. A dew point for an indoor environment is calculated based upon the data from the external sensor system and data from the internal sensor system. A graphical indication of an indoor environment climate may be displayed based upon the calculated dew point. Access openings, such as windows, may be opened or closed to change the humidity of the indoor environment.

SETPOINT ADJUSTMENT-BASED DUTY CYCLING

A facility for performing setpoint adjustment-based duty cycling techniques by adjusting the setpoint of a device or component is described. The facility reduces energy consumption for a system, such as an HVAC system, or device by adjusting or modulating an associated setpoint or temperature setting. The facility modulates the setpoint between a base setpoint value and another setpoint value based on a mode of the system. When the system is in a cooling mode, the facility modulates the temperature between the base setpoint value and a higher setpoint value. When the system is in heating mode, the facility modulates the temperature between the base setpoint value and a lower setpoint value. The facility may modulate the setpoint between the two setpoint values based on an offset value or a fixed setpoint value.

Multi type air conditioner and cooling and heating control method thereof

A cooling and heating control method of a multi type air conditioner in which a target pressure of a compressor is adjusted based on conditions of respective indoor units so as to reduce power consumption is provided. The cooling control method includes determining the indoor unit desired to execute power saving control, judging whether or not a difference between a temperature of a space in which the indoor unit desired to execute power saving control is located and a set temperature of the indoor unit is less than a reference value, raising a target evaporation temperature of the indoor unit upon judging that the difference is less than the reference value, comparing an evaporation temperature of the indoor unit with the raised target evaporation temperature, and raising an evaporation pressure of a compressor, when the evaporation temperature of the indoor unit is lower than the raised target evaporation temperature.

Air conditioner and method of controlling the same

An air conditioner includes an indoor fan motor driven according to a signal to control the indoor fan motor by a controller, and a controller that resets a reference value of a rated air flow rate according to the pre-set conditions by checking an indoor fan motor driving voltage when an indoor fan motor RPM reaches a reference value of a strong wind mode while the air conditioner operates in strong wind mode. The controller compares the checked indoor fan motor driving voltage with a reference indoor fan motor driving voltage of the rated air flow rate, and resets the reference value when the checked indoor fan motor driving voltage is different from the reference indoor fan motor driving voltage of the rated air flow rate.
