At least a portion of the at least one wall can be disposed in a vestibule of the thermal transfer device. The cavity can be configured to simultaneously receive a first fluid that flows from the first end to the second end and a second fluid that flows from the second end to the first end.

HYBRID FURNACE WITH FUEL AND/OR ELECTRICITY

An apparatus for heating petroleum, petrochemical, chemical process fluids, and boiler feed water or steam generation with a combination, or individual operation, of electrical elements and fired burners. The apparatus includes a radiant heating section and a flue gas stack for exhausting a combustion gas to the atmosphere. The radiant section includes one or more process coils, one or more fuel-fired burners for combusting a fuel and producing the combustion gas, where the one or more fuel-fired burners are arranged to provide radiant energy to a first area of the one or more process coils, and one or more electrical heating elements arranged to provide radiant energy to a second area of the one or more process coils. The one or more electrical heating elements are configured to provide 5% or more of a combined maximum energy output of the fuel-fired burners and the electrical heating elements.

Fuel-fired appliance with exhaust dilution

A fuel-fired heating appliance comprises a fuel source, an air source, a chamber in which fuel and air mix, a burner downstream from the mixing chamber, an igniter proximate the burner, a heat exchanger, a blower and a flue pipe. An ambient air inlet may be defined by at least one of the outlet end of the blower and the flue pipe extending between the interior of the flue pipe and an area ambient to the flue pipe. A flow rate of combustion gas may be controlled to a level below a steady-state flow rate during appliance warm-up.

Method for producing a metal-ceramic substrate

The present invention relates to a method for producing a metal-ceramic substrate. The method has the following steps: providing a stack containing a ceramic body, a metal foil, and a solder material in contact with the ceramic body and the metal foil, wherein the solder material has: a metal having a melting point of at least 700? C., a metal having a melting point of less than 700? C., and an active metal; and heating the stack, wherein at least one of the following conditions is satisfied: the high temperature heating duration is no more than 60 min; the peak temperature heating duration is no more than 30 min; the heating duration is no more than 60 min.

Fixing device for heat exchanger

A fixing device includes a gasket and a clip. The clip includes a clip upper portion, a clip body portion, and a clip leg portion. The clip upper portion has a width wider than the clip body portion and the clip leg portion. The clip upper portion, the clip body portion, and the clip leg portion are connected to form an open loop facing downward. The gasket includes a gasket upper portion, a gasket intermediate portion, and a gasket base portion forming an A shape. The gasket is compressible. The clip upper portion and the clip body portion define two receiving areas evenly distributed at two inner sides of the clip. The gasket is evenly and simultaneously compressed toward the two receiving areas of the clip while the clip moves downward without tilting or slanting.

Inward fired pre-mix burners with carryover

A burner assembly for a gas furnace including a partition panel including an upstream side, a downstream side, at least two partition openings, and an intermediate transverse slot in communication with each of the at least two partition openings, wherein each partition opening is located adjacent to one another, and at least two burners configured to fire inward, the at least two burners operably coupled to the upstream side, wherein each burner is substantially aligned with each respective partition opening.

A system for mounting a heater to structural members having a predetermined spacing includes a first mounting bracket having first and second mounting locations. The first and second mounting locations are spaced apart by a first integer multiple of the predetermined spacing. The system also includes a second mounting bracket having third and fourth mounting locations. The third and fourth mounting locations re spaced apart by the first integer multiple of the predetermined spacing. The system further includes a plurality of attachment points on the heater for attaching the first and second mounting brackets to the heater. The plurality of attachment points is arranged to locate the first, second, third, and fourth mounting locations in a mounting plane, with both the first and the third mounting locations and the second and the fourth mounting locations being spaced apart by a second integer multiple of the predetermined spacing.

Multifunctional thermal management system and related method

A system and related method that provides, but is not limited thereto, a thin structure with unique combination of thermal management and stress supporting properties. An advantage associated with the system and method includes, but is not limited thereto, the concept providing a multifunctional design that it is able to spread, store, and dissipate intense thermal fluxes while also being able to carry very high structural loads. An aspect associated with an approach may include, but is not limited thereto, a large area system for isothermalizing a localized heating source that has many applications. For example it can be used to mitigate the thermal buckling of ship deck plates, landing pad structures, or any other structures subjected to localized heating and compressive forces. It can also be used as a thermal regulation system in numerous applications, including but not limited to under-floor heating for residential or commercial buildings or for the de-icing of roads, runways, tunnels, sidewalks, and bridge surfaces.
