Icemaker

An icemaker according to present invention may comprise: a device body having an inflow penetration portion and a discharge penetration portion formed therein; a flow portion having an inflow opening and a discharge opening provided to penetrate the inflow penetration portion and the discharge penetration directly or indirectly, respectively, and having a flow space formed therein so as to connect with the inflow opening and the discharge opening; a cooling portion configured such that a refrigerant flows to at least a part of the periphery of the flow portion, thereby cooling water, which is introduced into the flow space through the inflow opening and flows therein, and turning the same into ice or cold water; and a separating/transferring portion for separating the ice, which has been generated in the flow space, from the flow space and transferring the same to the discharge opening.

Apparatus for generating hydrogen-rich ice

A system and method for generation of hydrogen-rich ice (HRI) by introducing water that has been mixed with H.sub.2 and CO.sub.2 into the vertical tubes of a tube-ice machine is disclosed. The temperature and pressure within the vertical tubes can be maintained by refrigerant surrounding the vertical tubes to form carbon dioxide clathrate hydrates which entrap hydrogen molecules. The carbon dioxide clathrate hydrates cages with entrapped H.sub.2 are encased, transported and then delivered after HRI discharge Later, when the HRI tube-ice is formed and released from tube-ice machine, it warms whereupon the carbon dioxide clathrate hydrates dissociate and the H.sub.2 is released and used, for example by placement of the tube-ice small cylinders in a glass of water.

ICE MAKER

Proposed is an ice maker disposed in a refrigerator to provide ice to an ice bucket. The ice maker may include a tray configured to be filled with water and positioned in the ice maker to freeze the water to make ice, the tray includes a high thermal conductive composite material configured to emit heat in response to an electric current supplied thereto; a tray cap connected to top of the tray to reduce an area of top of the tray so that the water filled in the tray is prevented from overflowing because of the inertia generated by the movement of the tray; a frame assembly connected to the tray; electrodes connected to both sides of the tray, respectively; and a motor connected to the tray to rotate the tray so that the ice is separated from the tray by gravity.

REFRIGERATOR

A refrigerator includes: a cabinet defining a storage space, a door that opens and closes the storage space, an evaporator generating cold air to thereby reduce a temperature of the storage space, a blowing fan circulating the cold air in the storage space, a grille panel provided at a rear side of the storage space and including a discharge port discharging the cold air into the storage space, and an ice maker disposed at a front side of the grille pan and including a guide duct guiding a flow of the cold air discharged from the discharge port. The guide duct provides a branched passage to thereby guide (i) a portion of the cold air discharged from the discharge port into the ice maker and (ii) remaining portions of the cold air to bypass the ice maker and into a space defined at a front side of the ice maker.

WATER FILTERING AND RECYCLING SYSTEM FOR ICE MAKING APPLIANCE

A water filter assembly may include a filter body having vertical side walls that defines a cavity within which one or more filter layers may be housed, the filter body further including a plurality of vertical barriers that define a plurality of flow paths that converge on an outlet hole, the vertical barriers further including a plurality of cutouts defining alternative overflow paths permitting water therethrough, and each filter layer including a plurality of vertical barriers that define a plurality of flow paths.
