An ice container may include a housing with an inner volume. The housing may hold ice in the inner volume. An ice container may include a base in the inner volume. The base may support ice in the inner volume. A lift coupled to the base, may move the base between a top of the housing and a bottom of the housing in order to maintain a top level of ice in the inner volume within a predetermined distance from the top of the housing.

A refrigeration appliance includes a fresh food compartment for storing food items in a refrigerated environment having a target temperature above 0 C., a freezer compartment for storing food items in a sub-freezing environment having a target temperature below 0 C., a system evaporator for providing a cooling effect to at least one of the fresh food compartment and the freezer compartment, and an ice maker disposed within the fresh food compartment for freezing water into ice pieces. The ice maker includes an ice mold with an upper surface comprising a plurality of cavities formed therein for the ice pieces, a heater disposed on the ice mold and an ice maker refrigerant tube abutting at least one lateral side surface of the ice mold and cooling the ice mold to a temperature below 0 C. via thermal conduction.

A refrigerator includes: a cabinet defining a storage space, a door that opens and closes the storage space, an evaporator generating cold air to thereby reduce a temperature of the storage space, a blowing fan circulating the cold air in the storage space, a grille panel provided at a rear side of the storage space and including a discharge port discharging the cold air into the storage space, and an ice maker disposed at a front side of the grille pan and including a guide duct guiding a flow of the cold air discharged from the discharge port. The guide duct provides a branched passage to thereby guide (i) a portion of the cold air discharged from the discharge port into the ice maker and (ii) remaining portions of the cold air to bypass the ice maker and into a space defined at a front side of the ice maker.

A refrigerator appliance includes a cabinet, a door, an interior liner, an icemaker, a guide plate, and an electric heating element. The cabinet defines a chilled chamber. The door is movably mounted to the cabinet. The interior liner defines an icebox within the chilled chamber. The icemaker is mounted within the icebox. The guide plate is horizontally offset from the icemaker within the icebox. The guide plate defines a convection channel extending generally along a vertical direction from a channel inlet to a channel outlet disposed above the channel inlet. The electric heating element is disposed along the convection channel to heat air therein.

A refrigerator according to the present embodiment includes: a cabinet provided with a storage compartment; a door configured to open and close the storage compartment; and an ice maker configured to receive cold air for cooling the storage compartment so as to make ice, wherein the ice maker includes an ice tray comprising a plurality of ice-making cells configured to make ice, and the plurality of ice-making cells are arranged in a plurality of columns, each column comprising two or more ice-making cells, and bottom surfaces of the ice-making cells have different heights for each column.
