Cooler
A cooler is provided which has various improvements. The cooler may be a passive cooler or may be actively cooled for providing desirable cooling effects. The cooler may include an accessory system, for example, with bottle or can holders or a post holder which utilizes the weight of the cooler to support a sunshade. The accessory system may be positioned in various locations of the cooler, one location being in a recess which is utilized to open the cooler lid. The smart cooler may also comprise a cushion assembly which may be placed on an upper surface of the lid and may have straps to retain the cushion on the lid. The lid may be formed to accept and retain a cushion retaining feature so that the cushion does not excessively move from the top surface of the lid.

Dynamic temperature regulating device
A dynamic temperature regulating device is for use in association with a temperature-controlled container. The dynamic temperature regulating device includes at least one heat source, at least one heat sink, a heat transfer medium and a control system. At least one of the heat source and the heat sink is a PCM (phase change material). The heat transfer medium is in thermal communication with and operably connected to the at least one heat source and the at least one heat sink. The control system is for controlling the selective thermal communication with the at least one heat source and with the at least one heat sink to regulate the temperature of the temperature-controlled container. A detachable PCM contained volumes includes a sealed housing, a phase change material and a heat transfer medium and functions as a PCM thermal energy storage volume.
Cold therapy cooler apparatus
A Cold Therapy Cooler Apparatus includes a port body with a flange and threads that is inserted into an orifice in the sidewall or lid of a cooler. An interior retaining ring with compatible threads cooperates with the flange to retain the port body within the orifice. A circulating pump is inside the cooler. An internal supply hose is connected to the pump, and to a supply pass-through that passes through the port body and is connected to an exterior supply hose. An internal return hose is connected to the pump, and to a return pass-through that passes through the port body and is connected to an exterior return hose. The exterior hoses are connected to an anatomical area cooling device. A power cord is connected to the pump and to a power cord connection by way of a power cord pass-through that passes through the port body.

Thermal energy storage and retrieval systems and methods
The invention provides, in some aspects, a thermal energy storage and retrieval system with a cavity containing a working fluid and a heat transfer surface disposed in the cavity transverse to a gravity field and in thermal coupling with an ice that is formed from and floating in the working fluid. The heat transfer surface transfers to that ice heat from a heat transfer medium that is thermally coupled to the heat transfer surface. According to aspects of the invention in which the ice is less dense than the working fluid, the heat transfer surface is disposed above (with respect to the gravity field) a region of the cavity where that ice is formed or inlet. According to aspects of the invention in which the ice is more dense than the working fluid, the heat transfer surface is disposed below that region.
MULIFUNCTION RESERVOIR FOR A SECONDARY LOOP, CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM AND A SECONDARY LOOP CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM INCORPORATING THAT MULTIFUNCTION RESERVOIR
Secondary loop air conditioning and heat pump systems include a reservoir with a capsule holding a phase change material.
SHIPPING SYSTEM FOR STORING AND/OR TRANSPORTING TEMPERATURE-SENSITIVE MATERIALS
Shipping systems for temperature-sensitive materials and methods of making and using same. In one embodiment, the shipping system includes a cooler base and a lid. The base includes an inner portion and an outer portion. The inner portion includes a thermal insulation unit including a bottom wall and four side walls. A thermally-conductive member is positioned on the bottom wall. A polymeric bag encapsulates the thermally-conductive member and some of the thermal insulation unit. The outer portion includes thermally-insulating material and defines an opening. The inner portion is permanently bonded to the outer portion, with cavities defined therebetween. A product box is placed in the inner portion directly over the polymeric bag and the underlying thermally-conductive member. First temperature-control members are disposed within the inner portion, with at least one temperature-control member directly over the polymeric bag and the underlying thermally-conductive member. Second temperature-control members are disposed within the cavities.

TEMPERATURE REGULATED APPARATUSES AND METHODS OF USING SAME
A temperature regulated apparatus can include a layered member comprising a first layer of material and a second layer of material connected to the first layer. The layered member can have a first opening formed therein and an interior area defined by the first layer and the second layer. The interior area can be in communication with the first opening. A temperature regulating element adapted to alter the temperature of the layered member can be positioned within the interior area of the layered member, and can be removed from the layered member without disassembling the layered member.
