A chest freezer plunge power safety system is configured to prevent any chance of electrical shock by disconnecting power to the chest freezer when the freezer door is opened. Chest freezers are often filled with water that is chilled by the freezer and used for cold plunge therapy. A person will open the freezer door and submerge their body or portion of their body in the cold water. One or more sensors are configured to detect when the freezer door is opened. The sensor or sensors are coupled with a contactor that disconnects power from a power source to the chest freezer. The sensor element may be attached to the freezer door and configured to be detected by the sensor when the freezer door is in a closed position. The sensor may be coupled with a controller that controls the function of the contactor to open or close the circuit.

The freezer includes two or more independently controllable climate zones which can be automatically adjust based on data received from sensors and cameras in each of the climate zones or manually adjust using the freezer management application. The freezer is also configured to receive one or more modular inserts for increased customization and functionality. The temporary storage unit includes a climate zone that is configured to be controlled and regulated by the freezer when the temporary storage unit is coupled with the freezer. Based on the data received from the sensors and cameras, the freezer management application generates alerts regarding deviations in the conditions of the climate zones or conditions of food items stored in the system.

A battery-powered portable cooler includes a main body with a tub for receiving contents, a cooling compartment, and insulation at least partly surrounding the tub. A lid opens and closes to selectively provide access to the tub. A wheel supports the main body on a support surface. A refrigeration system includes a compressor, a condenser, and an expansion valve, all located in the cooling compartment, and an evaporator including evaporator coils at least partly surrounding the tub to conductively cool the contents of the tub. An electronic control unit is operably connected to a user interface to receive input from the user interface and control operation of the refrigeration system. A battery pack mates with a battery receptacle along a battery insertion axis in a direction toward the tub. The battery pack provides electrical power to the electronic control unit, the user interface, and the refrigeration system.
