Produce ripening detection in a refrigerator appliance
A refrigerator appliance and a method of operating a refrigerator appliance to detect produce ripening. The refrigerator includes a camera assembly in a chilled chamber to obtain an image of a produce item and analyze the image for a ripeness value. Comparing the ripeness value of produce item to a predetermined value may be used to determine if the produce item has reached an optimal ripeness condition.
Refrigerator and home appliance
A home appliance includes a cabinet having a space and a door configured to open and close the space. The door includes a lighting device including a light source and a base on which the light source is installed, and a front plate defining a front appearance of the door, in which light irradiated from the light source passes through the front plate. When the light source is turned on, the light source irradiates light with a second color, and when light with the second color passes through the front plate, the front plate glows with a first color different from the second color.
Devices and methods for high-stability supercooling of aqueous media and biological matter
Supercooled water or solutions can be destabilized by the nucleation of ice. Constraining water in a constant-volume (isochoric) container minimizes destabilization through thermodynamic, kinetic, and fluid dynamic means, significantly enhancing supercooling stability. Methods and devices are used for stable and transportable supercooling of aqueous solutions or suspensions, and the stable and long-term preservation of biological matter that may be stored therein.
Refrigerator and control method thereof
A refrigerator includes a cabinet forming a storage space, a main door that opens and closes the storage space while defining an opening part that is in communication with the storage space, a sub-door mounted to the main door and configured to open and close the opening part, the sub-door including a panel assembly for allowing selective viewing of an inside of the opening part, the injection port is provided at a lower side of the sub-door to direct an insulating foaming solution to a space in the sub-door, a detection device for detecting an operation of a user, a lighting unit inside the refrigerator that turns on based on user operation to allow selective viewing of the inner side of the opening part, and a display unit inside the refrigerator at a position corresponding to the panel.
REFRIGERATION APPLIANCE FAN
A refrigeration appliance includes a freezer compartment fluidly coupled to an ice maker compartment via an ice maker return duct. An internal sensor is positioned within the freezer compartment and configured to sense a first condition within the freezer compartment. An external sensor is coupled to said refrigeration appliance and configured to sense a second condition external to said refrigeration appliance. A return fan is positioned within the ice maker return duct. A controller is operably coupled to the internal and external sensors to receive sensed first and second conditions. The controller is configured to determine a differential between the sensed first condition within the freezer compartment and the sensed second condition external to said refrigeration appliance. The controller activates the return fan to blow air from the ice maker compartment into the freezer compartment in response to the differential.
HOUSEHOLD COOLING APPLIANCE WITH PLATE-LIKE SEPARATION UNIT, WHICH IS CONFIGURED AS MULTI-MODULE CARRIER PLATE
A household cooling appliance contains a housing and a receiving space for food configured in the housing. A plate-like separation unit is releasably arranged in the receiving space and is arranged for separating the volume of the receiving space. The separation unit has a base plate, which contains a clearance, which is filled with thermally insulating material, and in the base plate at least one light module is arranged as a function module. The base plate is configured as a multi-module carrier plate for receiving several functionally different function modules. Wherein on the base plate is arranged a further electronics module that is separate and functionally different from the light module.
Insulated structure for an appliance
An insulated structure for an appliance includes a plurality of walls, a cavity defined by the plurality of walls, and an aperture defined by one of the plurality of walls. The aperture is employed in evacuating the cavity to establish a less-than-atmospheric pressure within the cavity. A base structure is coupled to an interior surface of the one of the plurality of walls that defines the aperture. The base structure is aligned with the aperture. A pressure sensor is received by the base structure. The base structure and the pressure sensor together define a pressure-sensing assembly.
Indicating device and refrigerator having the same
Disclosed herein is a refrigerator capable of varying a storage condition for food in accordance with a state of the food, thereby storing the food in a fresher state for a prolonged period of time. The refrigerator includes an indicating device to measure a state of food. The indicating device is provided to be portable, separately from a refrigerator body. The indicating device includes a measurement terminal, which come into contact with food, only when contact is needed. The refrigerator also includes an input unit to receive data about a state of food, a determination unit to determine a storage condition for the food, based on the input food state data, and a controller to control driving of the cooling device, based on the determined food storage condition. The indicating device includes a measurement unit to obtain food state data, and a display to display the food state data.
VACUUM PORT COVER AND ALIGNER FEATURES
A vacuum-insulated door for a cooling appliance includes an outer skin defining a vacuum-insulated cavity. A vacuum port is in fluid communication with the vacuum-insulated cavity through the outer skin. A vacuum inlet housing is connected to the vacuum port and extends from the outer skin. A vacuum port cover assembly includes a bracket connected to the outer skin that includes a first pocket for locating the vacuum inlet housing. A cover is connected to the bracket.
Refrigerator
A refrigerator includes a cabinet having a storage space and a door to open and close the storage space. The door includes a panel assembly including a front panel, a door frame connected to the panel assembly, a door liner connected to the panel assembly and the door frame and to define an insulating space, in which an insulator is disposed, together with the panel assembly and the door frame, and a sensor module installed on the door frame to sense a knock input applied to the front panel. The door frame includes a front wall that is in contact with the front panel and a rear wall spaced apart from the front wall and configured to define an accommodation space, in which the sensor module is accommodated, together with the front wall.
