A freeze dryer is provided, which comprises a freeze-drying chamber having an inlet for allowing material to be dried to be introduced into the freeze-drying chamber and configured for being evacuated at least partially, and a vacuum source in fluid communication with the drying chamber and configured for evacuating the freeze-drying chamber at least partially. A vacuum fluid path is defined between the freeze-drying chamber and the vacuum source. The freeze dryer further comprises a collecting filter configured for collecting dried material from the freeze-drying chamber, which collecting filter is arranged outside the freeze-drying chamber and within the vacuum fluid path between the freeze-drying chamber and the vacuum source.

The substance is placed on the shelves in the vacuum chamber and the heaters below the shelves maintain the temperature uniformity to evenly heat the substance on the shelf. A vacuum feedthrough is connected on one side of the shelf for desired flow of the substance and the shelves themselves can be tilted for even drying. The vacuum pump, which can be used in high vacuum mode or gas flow mode then removes the particulates that evaporated from the substance and the condenser collects and condenses the unwanted or wanted particulates.

A plant curing and drying hanger apparatus for use with harvested plant material which includes a primary frame, a plant support bar and one or more separators arranged to space from one another plant sections positioned on the support bar. The plant support bar is hingedly coupled to the primary frame. A latch releasably joins the plant support bar to one end of the primary frame so that an end of the plant support bar can be dropped away from the primary frame to enable the insertion and removal of plant sections into the spaces between adjacent separators to allow for effective plant drying and efficient loading and unloading of plant material without damaging the product.

A baghouse apparatus for removing particulates from a 100% recycled asphalt pavement dryer exhaust air stream includes a drop out zone section having a water spray operable to initially drench an incoming air exhaust stream with water droplets while increasing air stream velocity, then slow the air stream velocity to cause drop out of particulates >1000 m from the slowed waste air stream, and collect the particulates dropped out of the waste air exhaust stream. The apparatus also includes a cyclonic scrubber section for further cooling the waste air exhaust stream while subjected the stream to a further water spray to condense aerosol vapor into droplets, a prefilter filtration section operable to collect and remove condensed aerosol droplets from the waste air stream; and a coalescing filtration section operable to remove 99% of remaining particulates from the waste air stream before discharge of the air stream to atmosphere.

PROCESS FOR DRYING N,N-DIMETHYL GLYCINATE SALTE

The application relates to a process for drying a composition comprising an alkali metal salt of a compound of general formula (I) R.sup.1R.sup.2NCHR.sup.3COOM or formula (II) R.sup.1R.sup.2NCHR.sup.3CHR.sup.3COOM, in particular N,N-dimethyl glycinate salt, and the use thereof. In the process, the composition, in particular the N,N-di methyl glycinate salt, is dried by feeding the composition into a fluidized bed dryer and subjecting the composition to a heat treatment by contacting the composition in the fluidized bed dryer with a drying gas stream, and during the heat treatment a solution or dispersion of the composition is sprayed onto at least a portion of the composition present in the fluidized bed dryer, or alternatively or in addition the composition, in particular N,N-dimethyl glycinate salt, is fed into a fluidized bed dryer and subjected to heat treatment in the fluidized bed dryer by contacting the composition with a drying gas stream, and the temperature of the composition in the fluidized bed during the heat treatment does not exceed 50 C.
