Indirect-direct evaporative cooling and direct evaporative cooling units and method of controlling
A cooling tower having a controller installed within the cooling tower which controls the operation of pump motors, fans, dampers, valves and adjusts the speed of the fan and pump motor. The controller is placed inside a compartment which is attached to an inside surface of the cooling tower. The compartment has an inlet and an outlet such that conditioned air enters the compartment inlet and flows over the surface of the controller to either cool or heat the controller and then the conditioned air, which has flowed over the surface of the controller, exits the compartment through the compartment outlet.
HEAT EXCHANGE SYSTEM FOR THE THERMAL REGULATION OF A BUILDING
Heat exchange system on a roof of a building, with an exchange volume comprising a substrate that is partly saturated by water and covered by a vegetated surface that enhances condensation and evapotranspiration and having a heat diffusion device comprising a circulation pump and a collection network for thermal exchanges with the exchange volume.
ROTARY LIQUID DISTRIBUTOR FOR LIQUID-COOLED TANK AND LIQUID-COOLED TANK
The present application discloses a rotary liquid distributor for a liquid-cooled tank, and a liquid-cooled tank. The rotary liquid distributor includes a liquid distribution cavity and a liquid distribution arm provided in the liquid distribution cavity. The liquid distribution cavity rotates around a central shaft thereof. A plurality of the liquid distribution arms are uniformly distributed in a circumferential direction of the liquid distribution cavity. That is, the liquid distribution arm rotates with the liquid distribution cavity. Then, a liquid distribution outlet is provided between a first end and a second end of the liquid distribution arm. The liquid distribution outlet is located on a side of the liquid distribution arm facing away from a rotating direction.
DUAL MASS COOLING PRECISION SYSTEM
Devices, systems, and methods are disclosed for cooling using both air and/or liquid cooling sub circuits. A vapor compression cooling system having both an air and liquid cooling sub circuit designed to service high sensible process heat loads that cannot be solely cooled by either liquid or air is provided.
Reduction of scale build-up in an evaporative cooling apparatus
In one embodiment, a plate for an evaporative cooler is disclosed. The plate may comprise a wicking material with an exposed surface and a sealed surface opposite the exposed surface. An impermeable barrier may be coupled to the sealed surface. One or more masks may line a portion of the exposed surface, wherein the masks may comprise an impermeable material. In some embodiments, the mask may be a strip of impermeable material and may be coupled to a flat area of the top surface. In further embodiments, the one or more masks may align with a liquid wick path of the wicking material. In further embodiments, the one or more masks may line the edge of perforations that pass at least partially through the plate.

Evaporative HVAC apparatus
An evaporative HVAC apparatus is disclosed. In at least one embodiment, the apparatus provides an at least one absorbent wicking layer having a first surface and an opposing second surface, and an at least one thermal layer also having a first surface and an opposing second surface. The second surface of the at least one thermal layer is formed immediately adjacent to the first surface of the at least one wicking layer. An at least one fluid line is in fluid communication with the at least one wicking layer. Thus, a fluid is selectively delivered to the wicking layer through the at least one fluid line which, in turn, permeates the at least one thermal layer and evaporates into the air located immediately adjacent the exposed first surface of the at least one thermal layer, thereby affecting the temperature of the air.
Sublimator Having A Porous Plate With Integral Primary And Secondary Heat Transfer Surfaces
A sublimator includes a porous plate having a first surface comprising a low pressure side and a second surface comprising a high pressure side such that refrigerant is configured to move through the porous plate from the high pressure side to the low pressure side. The second surface defines a primary heat transfer surface. The porous plate further includes a plurality of secondary heat transfer surfaces integrally formed on the primary heat transfer surface to facilitate flow and evenly distribute refrigerant across the high pressure side of the porous plate.
ServoCool water evaporative refrigeration cycle
The technology disclosed is a two stage Indirect/Direct Evaporative Cooling (IDEC) cycle whose novel closed loop topology compels system convergence to a stable operating state, wherein air cooling takes place mostly in the indirect stage. The direct stage then serves principally as a water chiller for that process.
Methods and systems for turbulent, corrosion resistant heat exchangers
Disclosed are various turbulent, corrosion-resistant heat exchangers used in desiccant air conditioning systems.
