Heat exchanger

A heat exchanger may include flat tubes formed of a microchannel type, and first and second fins positioned at a top and bottom of the flat tubes so as to conduct the heat of the flat tubes. The first and second fins may be respectively provided with first and second condensate water discharge fins at a top and bottom. The second condensate water discharge fins of the first fins and the first condensate water discharge fins of the second fins may come into contact, and the second condensate water discharge fins of the first fins and the first condensate water discharge fins of the second fins may be disposed in a line with respect to a vertical direction, thereby having an advantage of quickly transferring condensate water formed at the top to the bottom.

Desiccant cooling system

A desiccant cooling system includes a desiccant module mounted in a division plate to be rotatable and having a side mounted in a desiccant cooling path through which indoor air moves and another side mounted in a regeneration path through which outdoor air moves, a preliminary cooler mounted at an upstream of the desiccant module in the desiccant cooling path and configured to cool the indoor air flowing into the desiccant cooling path; and a main cooler mounted at a downstream of the desiccant module in the desiccant cooling path, and configured to cool the indoor air dehumidified by passing through the desiccant module and supply the cooled indoor air to an air-conditioning space, wherein a dew-point temperature of the indoor air dehumidified by passing through the side of the desiccant module is less than a temperature of the main cooler.

System for fast draining of an airfan heat exchanger and methods of using the same

A system for draining an airfan heat exchanger includes an airfan heat exchanger including a housing, a pressurized gas source fluidly coupled to the airfan heat exchanger and configured to hold a purging gas at a predetermined pressure, and a controller configured to control delivery of the purging gas to the airfan heat exchanger. The pressurized gas source is configured to provide a flow of the purging gas to the airfan heat exchanger and thereby drain water held in the airfan heat exchanger. The purging gas to the airfan will cause the airfan to drain quickly avoiding potential damage to the airfan from freezing of the water during cold weather.

A chest insert for a freezer is disclosed. The chest insert is placed inside a freezer and food is placed inside the chest insert. Several sides of the chest insert comprise a gap which is partially filled with a refrigerant gel. These gaps are slanted such that the gel can expand into a wider gap as it expands while freezing, lessening the risk of uneven freezing causing the refrigerant gel to press against the walls of the chest insert. The use of the disclosed subject matter reduces freezer burn by stabilizing humidity. Further, the chest insert maintains the temperature inside the chest insert for extended periods if the freezer fails or the power to the freezer is interrupted.

A heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) unit includes a drain pan including a basin defined by a base and a plurality of side walls configured to collect condensate from an evaporator of the HVAC unit. The HVAC unit also includes a drain port disposed in the base of the basin and arranged such that the drain pan is configured to direct the condensate toward the drain port and out of the basin, a protruded portion extending from an outer surface of a side wall of the plurality of side walls, and a passage proximate to a top edge of the side wall of the plurality of side walls and configured to facilitate overflow of the condensate out of the basin and along the protruded portion.

Cold-storage heat exchanger

A cold storage heat exchanger includes refrigerant tubes having therein refrigerant passages and arranged to provide a clearance therebetween. A cold storage container is bonded to a refrigerant tube and defines therein a compartment receiving a cold storage material. The cold storage container has protrusion portions protruding outward and being in contact with the refrigerant tube.

Heat exchanger arrangement

A heat exchanger arrangement (2) comprises at least one heat exchanger (4) including at least one substantially horizontally oriented manifold (6a, 6b) forming an upper side of the at least one heat exchanger (4), the at least one manifold (6a, 6b) having lateral end portions (8); and a support structure (10) including a main portion comprising, at least partially, a metallic material, and manifold support portions (14) associated to respective lateral end portions (8) of the at least one manifold (6a, 6b).
