An improved fastener comprising a fastener body having a tool-engaging portion, a threaded fastening portion and a shroud-receiving body portion, a shroud concentrically mounted on the shroud-receiving body portion, and an intermediate sleeve disposed concentrically between the shroud-receiving body portion and the shroud, the shroud being supported in rotatable relationship with said shroud-receiving body portion such that said shroud will rotate relative to said fastener body under an applied external torque prior to said fastener body rotating when said fastener is engaged with an external structure at a design installation torque.

A device to attractively cover the head of a nail or screw used to hang pictures and other items on a wall. The device has an attractive cover, a button cover attached to the back of the attractive cover, with a rotatable clasp section that can removably secure the head of a nail, screw, pin or other item. The button cover also has a magnet attached to its inside which helps secure the head of the screw, nail or pin.

This invention is directed toward a device that can attractively cover the head of a nail or screw used to hang pictures and other items on a wall. The device has an attractive cover, which is generally flat, and can be pretty much any attractive item, including but not limited to rocks, minerals, wood, acrylic, resin, fiber, old jewelry, ceramics, glass, metal, shells, bones, printed logos/brands on acrylic, etc. The invention has a button cover attached to the back of the attractive cover. The button cover has a rotatable clasp section that can removably secure the head of a nail, screw, pin or other item. The button cover also has a magnet attached to its inside which helps secure the head of the screw, nail or pin.

A cap for forming a sealed cavity around an end of a fastener protruding from a structure. The cap has: a cap body with an annular base terminating at a rim which surrounds an opening into a central cavity; an annular skirt providing an annular pocket between the skirt and the base; and an inlet hole in the skirt. The inlet hole is in fluid communication with the pocket and arranged to interconnect with a sealing material injection device to provide a flow of sealing material through the skirt via the inlet hole into the pocket. An outlet is also provided in the skirt. The outlet is in fluid communication with the pocket and arranged to enable air to escape the pocket through the skirt via the outlet hole as the sealing material flows from the inlet hole into the pocket.

Sealant cap assemblies comprise a cap shell having an interior volume and a recess adjacent to a bottom opening thereof, a sealant barrier ring at least partially inserted in the recess in the cap shell, and sealant located radially outside the sealant barrier ring adjacent to the bottom opening of the cap shell. The sealant barrier ring may retract into the recess in the cap shell. The sealant may be uncured or partially cured, and is prevented from flowing inside the barrier ring when the sealant cap assemblies are installed on fasteners. Methods of making and using such seal cap assemblies are disclosed. Fasteners sealed by such sealant cap assemblies are also disclosed.

Fastener protection caps which shield a fastener from material applied in sandblasting, painting and other processes include a cap wall including at least one side cap wall portion having a first wall end and a second wall end, and an end cap wall portion at the first wall end. A cap interior may be defined by the cap wall. The cap interior may be sized and configured to accommodate at least a portion of a mechanical fastener. At least one wall bevel may be provided at the second wall end of the cap wall. Fastener protection methods are also disclosed.

A cap for forming a sealed cavity around an end of a fastener is disclosed having a cap body with an annular base terminating at an inner cap rim which surrounds an opening into a central cavity and lies in an inner cap plane around a majority of a circumference of the annular base. A skirt provides an annular pocket between the skirt and the annular base. The skirt has a first part which is integrally formed with the cap body from a first material and terminates at an edge, and a second part which is formed from a second material and extends from the edge of the first part of the skirt to a skirt rim which lies in or below the inner cap plane around a majority of a circumference of the skirt.

An aesthetic fastener is an innovated fastener that can accept an aesthetic cap or cover on the head of the fastener. The aesthetic fastener is similar to a regular screw but with a thicker and threaded head to receive the aesthetic cap or cover. Additionally, the aesthetic fastener comprises an attachment that allows the fastener to accept aesthetic caps or covers that are larger in diameter than the diameter of the head of the aesthetic fastener. Further, the aesthetic fastener includes an attachment that allows a user to easily hang items on to the aesthetic fastener with the aesthetic cap or cover on the aesthetic fastener.
