Non-flammable heat conducting liquid or non-metallic foam may fill space between tubes or core and airfoil. Fluid circuit may include channels within electroformed heat exchanger tubes or the heat exchanger core and extend from inlet manifold to outlet manifold for directing fluid or oil through channels and include fluid or oil supply inlet connected to inlet manifold for receiving the fluid or oil flowed into inlet manifold and a fluid or oil supply outlet connected to fluid or oil supply outlet for discharging fluid or oil flowed out of fluid or oil outlet manifold. Heat exchanger tubes or heat exchanger core, inlet manifold, outlet manifold, supply inlet and supply outlet may be integrally and monolithically electroformed together.
Oscillating heat pipe using ultrasonic additive manufacturing
A manifold structure is formed using ultrasonic additive manufacturing and machining. The manifold structure includes a body having a base plate and a cover plate that define a flow passage therebetween, and a plurality of walls that segment the flow passage into a plurality of channels, wherein each of the walls has a height extending from the base plate to the cover plate and a non-linear length that is elongated relative to a width of the wall and extends in a direction normal to the height of the wall. The walls are wavy in shape to provide enhanced rigidity and stiffness during lamination over the channels.
FLAT HEAT PIPE HAVING A GRADIENT WETTING STRUCTURE
The present invention discloses a flat heat pipe, comprising a bottom plate, a top plate, and a support plate located between the bottom plate and the top plate; a micron-level radial strip is processed on the inner surface of the bottom plate; the inner surface of the top plate is processed with superhydrophilic and superhydrophobic radial structures arranged at intervals to transport the condensate to the direction of the surrounding pipe wall; a wick is arranged on the inner side of the support plate. The present invention has the function of pumpless directional transport of liquid and convergence of refluxed condensate; thereby improving the heat exchange performance of the entire flat heat pipe.
Transparent heat exchanger
In one aspect, a transparent heat exchanger includes a first transparent substrate optically attached to a heat source, one or more fins to transfer heat from the heat source, the one or more fins comprising transparent material and further comprising one of a manifold coupled to the first transparent substrate or a facesheet coupled to the first transparent material.
