Anti-fouling device for heat exchangers and its use
An anti-fouling device includes an elongated displacement body insertable in a heat exchanger tube to reduce the flow cross-sectional area in a portion of the tube. A mount is connected to the elongated displacement body for attaching the device to an end of the heat exchanger tube. The mount is configured to hold the displacement body, when inserted into the tube, in a spaced relationship to the inner surface of the tube. The device reliably reduces fouling over an extended period of time without requiring maintenance or external controls, is easily installable, and can be retrofitted to existing heat exchangers. The device mitigates fouling related issues in heat exchangers subjected to hot combustion or process gases such as those encountered in the production of carbon black, fumed silica or other particulate matter, without contaminating the product recoverable from the process gas or having an adverse influence on the properties thereof.
HEAT EXCHANGER HAVING CHANNELS FOR DAMPING LIQUID MOTIONS
A heat exchanger for indirect heat transfer between a first medium and a second medium having a shell which has a shell space to accommodate a liquid phase of the first medium, and at least one heat-exchanger block having first heat-transfer passages to accommodate the first medium and second heat-transfer passages to accommodate the second medium, such that indirect heat can be transferred between the first medium and the second medium. The heat-exchanger block is arranged in the shell space so that it can be surrounded with a liquid phase of the first medium in the shell space. A plurality of cylindrical channels are provided in the shell space laterally to the heat-exchanger block and parallel to each other to conduct the liquid phase of the first medium.
Hazardous location heat transfer unit
A two chamber heat transfer unit configured such that hazardous air can circulate through one of the chambers and potential ignition source components are contained in another chamber through which the gas to be heated or cooled will circulate.
Hazardous location heat transfer unit
A two chamber heat transfer unit configured such that hazardous air can circulate through one of the chambers of the heat transfer unit and any potential ignition source components are contained in another pressurized chamber of the heat transfer unit.
MODULES FOR HEAT EXCHANGE FOR USE IN COOLING TOWERS
The present disclosure relates to modules for heat exchange for use in cooling towers and methods of assembling cooling towers using such modules. The aforementioned modules for heat exchange may include fill packing and a structural system configured to provide support for at least the fill packing, in which the structural system includes a plurality of structural members configured to provide compression and tension support. The aforementioned modules for heat exchange may be assembled prior to being transported to a job site and installed in a cooling tower.
Steam Trap Insulating Cover with Wireless Monitoring
A steam trap cover has a front panel, a back panel, a top panel, and a first and a second end panel joined along edges forming a rectangular enclosure, and a bottom panel joined along one edge, such that the bottom panel may be opened or closed, the first and second end panels each having a circular opening and a slit from a bottom edge of the end panel into the circular opening. The cover is characterized in that with the bottom panel open and the slits in the end panels separated the cover is adapted to be placed over a steam trap having an inlet and an exit pipe until the entrance and the exit pipe are enclosed in the circular openings, after which closing the bottom cover completely encloses the steam trap.
System and method for monitoring and diagnosis of heat exchanger tube health
A system and method for monitoring heat exchanger tube health without requiring the heat exchanger system to be shut down and disassembled and without operator intervention. At least one wireless sensor ball (WSB) assembly is positioned in the heat exchanger system. The heat exchanger system includes an ultrasonic acoustic receiver array mounted therewithin. WSB assembly information is gathered regarding status, operating condition, health, efficiency of the piping system, and/or, piping system health trends.
Thermal management planes
Some embodiments include a thermal management plane. The thermal management plane may include a top casing comprising a polymer material; a top encapsulation layer disposed on the top casing; a bottom casing comprising a polymer material; a bottom encapsulation layer disposed on the bottom casing; a hermetical seal coupling the bottom casing with the top casing; a wicking layer disposed between the bottom casing and the top casing; and a plurality of spacers disposed between the top casing and the bottom casing within the vacuum core, wherein each of the plurality of spacers have a low thermal conduction. In some embodiments, the thermal management plane has a thickness less than about 200 microns.
