The apparatus may further include a controller configured to control the first feeder to feed the cleaning lance into a first bore, to control the cleaning lance to clean the first bore, and to control the first feeder to retract the cleaning lance from the first bore.

Indexer, indexer retrofit kit and method of use thereof

A system and method for cleaning of heat exchanger tubes including an assembly, an indexer and a communication device provided with specialized software and programming. The indexer includes orthogonally arranged first and second arms. A trolley and sensors are provided on the indexer arms. One or more lances are provided on the trolley to deliver water jets into the openings. Sensors measure displacement as the trolley is moved relative to the heat exchanger's face plate. An operator controls the system from a distance away using the communication device. During setup, the pattern of the face plate is learned and mapped utilizing information from the sensors as one of the inputs. This information is utilized to help navigate the face plate during a subsequent cleaning operation. A kit for retrofitting existing X-Y indexers is also disclosed.

The method includes: connecting the internal volume to be cleaned to a steam generator; generating a cleaning steam having a predetermined vapour pressure and temperature by the steam generator; applying the cleaning steam to the surfaces to be cleaned in the internal volume; maintaining the vapour pressure and the temperature within the internal volume for the duration of a predetermined condensation time; generating a pressure drop in the internal volume of the aircraft component, in order to vaporise the portion of the cleaning steam that condensed during the condensation time; and removing the cleaning steam from the internal volume via a discharge device.

According to the invention, controlled cavitation is created at predetermined positions within a device. The cavitation is done by mechanical waves, such as ultrasound waves, generated by transducers, wherein the waves are based on output of time-reversal wave form analysis of the device structures.

A method of cleaning an HVAC coil unit located above a drain basin. One step of the method involves providing a supply and collection assembly having a reservoir containing liquid cleaning solution, a pump operative to output the liquid cleaning solution through a supply outlet, and a vacuum source operative to draw in used liquid cleaning solution through a collection inlet. According to another step, a nozzle device in fluid communication with the supply outlet is also provided, the nozzle device having a delivery face. A further step involves providing a fluid return tool in fluid communication with the collection inlet, and positioning the fluid return tool in the drain basin. According to a further step, the delivery face of the nozzle device is moved across a surface of the HVAC coil unit to deliver the cleaning solution into areas between fins thereof.

The technical result is a shorter cleaning time and more reliable removal of deposits.

COOLING WATER MONITORING AND CONTROL SYSTEM

A method of controlling cooling water treatment may involve measuring operating data of one or more downstream heat exchangers that receive cooling water from the cooling tower. For example, the inlet and outlet temperatures of both the hot and cold streams of a downstream heat exchanger may be measured. Data from the streams passing through the heat exchanger may be used to determine a heat transfer efficiency for the heat exchanger. The heat transfer efficiency can be trended over a period of time and changes in the trend detected to identify cooling water fouling issues. Multiple potential causes of the perceived fouling issues can be evaluated to determine a predicted cause. A chemical additive selected to reduce, eliminate, or otherwise control the cooling water fouling can be controlled based on the predicted cause of the fouling.

The heat exchange system conditions bonding ways of water quality in a HVAC chiller unit, an air compressor, a heat exchanger, a cooling unit, or a boiler under a variety of scaling conditions in both field operation and water quality, by integrating the interaction of those units together with the anti-scaling method for simulating water quality that has a water quality limit same as that in field operation. The heat exchange system further integrates with a testing of anti-scaling performance to make water quality no longer charged and lose the reaction power so as to prevent scaling formation, enhance the anti-scaling performance, and ensure operating efficiency and performance.
