There is disclosed a two-stage trigger with a large trigger/sear bearing area and an optimized sear loading angle that provides a lightweight trigger-pull. There is further disclosed a safety that blocks rotation of the trigger.

Trigger assembly with trigger block

A trigger mechanism has a trigger block pivotably mounted on a trigger. The trigger block has a face surface that engages an actuation surface on a plunger which is movable along a line of action. The plunger has a stop surface engageable with a contact surface on the trigger. Pivoting of the trigger is prevented when the stop and contact surfaces are engaged. The plunger is spring biased to maintain the stop surface engaged with the contact surface. Pivoting of the trigger block moves the face surface against the actuation surface, which moves the plunger along its line of action. Motion of the plunger disengages the stop surface from the contact surface allowing the trigger to pivot and discharge the firearm.

Disclosed is a mechanism for use with firearms having compact bolt carrier designs without modification of or connection to either the upper or lower receiver. It provides an auto sear trip linkage that is independent of both the upper and lower receivers and which may be used as a drop in unit to allow an upper receiver assembly otherwise configured for semi-automatic fire to be used in full-auto mode with a standard, full-auto capable AR-pattern lower receiver.

Sear block trigger safety

A trigger mechanism for a firearm includes a sear which interacts with a trigger. The sear and trigger are held in contact by a sear block. The sear block has dogs which engage respective locking surfaces on the sear and trigger. Pivoting motion of the sear block disengages the dogs from the trigger and sear and allows the trigger to pivot and release the sear to discharge the firearm. When the dogs are engaged with the sear and trigger the resistance to inadvertent discharge due to inertial loads imposed on the mechanism when the firearm is dropped is increased.

Pistol with short barrel and deep groove rifling

A barrel has a barrel body that extends a barrel length and a bore extending through the barrel body. The bore has a cartridge chamber section and a rifled section with a bore diameter. A cartridge shell fits within the cartridge chamber section and the projectile extends from the cartridge chamber section into the rifled section. The cartridge shell with the projectile has a shell length within the bore, the barrel length is less than twice the shell length. The rifled section has rifling grooves between rifling lands, and each of the rifling lands has a land width. The groove diameter is greater than the land diameter by an amount that is more than one half of the land width. The barrel body has an extractor assembly with an arm retractably extending from a cavity. The arm can rotate in the cavity when extended and does not rotate when retracted.

A rifle assembly for a two-stage trigger includes a rifle arranged with an upper receiver and a lower receiver. A pistol grip is joined to the lower receiver and further has a pistol grip lower edge. A trigger housing further has a trigger housing lower receiver portion immediately adjacent to the lower receiver. The trigger housing lower receiver portion is immediately adjacent to a trigger housing magazine well portion and a trigger housing pistol grip portion. A bow trigger extends through a trigger housing lower receiver portion and into the lower receiver. The bow trigger has a cylindrical housing that is partially filled with a filler. A trigger stub is centrally located in the cylindrical housing. Moving a pressure point up or down on the cylindrical housing effectively changes the rifle from a single stage style fast shooting trigger to a slower shooting long range two stage trigger with a lower trigger pull weight.

Apparatus and method for powering and networking a rail of a firearm

A method, apparatus and system for networking accessories to a firearm or weapon wherein the accessories are conductively powered from the rail and data is transferred between the accessories and the rail via conductive coupling. In one embodiment, a weapon is provided, the weapon having: an upper receiver; a lower receiver; a powered accessory mounted to a rail of the upper receiver; and an apparatus for conductively networking a microcontroller of the powered accessory to a microcontroller of the upper receiver and a microcontroller of the lower receiver, wherein the data is exclusively provided to the powered accessory from the rail.

Firearms or other projectile weapons include a GPS sensor, World Time RF sensor, orientation sensor for detecting the angle, acceleration (launch velocity), and direction in which the projectile will be launched along with a stored updatable list of times, GPS coordinates, distances from the GPS coordinates such that the weapon is disabled for use in these restricted areas if the projectile shall enter the restricted area. In addition, acceleration is used to detect a dropped or potentially damaged weapon such that the weapon is disabled and an emergency RF beacon is enabled (alternatively selected by the user).
