Practice Magazine for Firearms
20210156639 · 2021-05-27 ·

A practice magazine includes a housing that at least partially houses one or more weights, a rotating or pivoting follower, and a spring for biasing the follower in a first direction that is toward the slide of a firearm when the practice magazine is positioned in the magazine compartment of the firearm. The housing also includes a magazine catch notch and additional features to cooperate with the firearm magazine compartment's geometry. The follower attaches to the housing at a pivot support around which it can rotate, and the housing and follower include a stopper arrangement that limits excessive rotation of the follower. The spring, disposed between the follower and housing, produces tension when the practice magazine is fully inserted into the magazine compartment of the firearm. The weights are disposed in the housing to mimic the weight of loaded ammunition.

System for elevated speed firearms training
10969190 · 2021-04-06 · ·

A system to advance human performance in sighting, tracking, recognizing, and reacting to (collectively “engaging”) moving and stationary objects, for example, advancing skill in engaging targets with a firearm. The system provides elevated ocular tactical conditioning including kinetic saccadic eye tracking hardware and training for elevate sighting and tracking performance, and rapid subject matter recognition training to elevate fine motor skills and target and non-target stimuli recognition performance. Components include software and hardware that provide target and non-target image stimuli that can be manually or automatically generated as stationary or moving stimuli. The system includes a database including a plurality of training scenarios, each training scenario including a sequence of stimuli, the sequence of stimuli including targets for the trainee to sight, track, and recognize; a display for the presentation of the sequence of stimuli; and a data processor generating the presentation of the sequence of stimuli on the display, providing an operator interface, and providing performance reporting.

Double feed training cartridge for firearms
11002523 · 2021-05-11 ·

A training cartridge for use in firearm malfunction training is disclosed. The training cartridge is used in a firearm including a clip or magazine to prevent conventional ammunition cartridges from being properly fed into the firing chamber of the firearm. The training cartridge includes a generally cylindrical body, a skirt portion extending outwardly relative to an outer surface of the body, an annular rim spaced from a lower surface of the skirt that is oriented toward the rim such that an annular recess is formed between the lower surface of the skirt and the rim. A feed malfunction is induced when a conventional ammunition cartridge, as it is fed into the firing chamber, is snagged by the adjacent training cartridge.

Round counting simulation magazine

A simulated magazine useful to provide for simulated firing of a firearm includes a cycling lever arm which is depressed once every time the firearm is cycled; a linearly shaped counting plunger; a plunger spring biasing the plunger in an upward position; and a spring assembly connected to the cycling lever arm and acting upon the plunger. Depression of the cycling lever arm causes the plunger to move incrementally upward. When the plunger is in a fully up state, a slide catch trigger extends upward from the magazine, the slide catch trigger causing a slide of the firearm to remain in a back, open state.

System for simulating the reloading of a magazine in a magazine fed hand operated device for a simulation
10969185 · 2021-04-06 · ·

A system that enables a user to simulate the reloading of a magazine fed hand operated device used in a simulation. The user may eject the physical magazine using the magazine ejection button on the hand operated device, and then engage that same magazine which has been stopped from being fully ejected from the hand operated device's magazine housing by a magazine retention mechanism. An internal magazine engagement sensor registers with the simulation that the magazine has been ejected by the user and then has been re-engaged when the magazine is fed back into the housing and locked in by the hand operated device's locking mechanism.

A universal marksmanship training system is disclosed herein configured to utilize a display device comprising a graphic display. A software application may also be provided. The software application is often configured to display a virtual target on the graphic display. A chamber insert may be utilized, the chamber insert configured to be positioned with the firing chamber of a firearm to be zeroed, wherein the chamber insert interacts with the software application to determine alignment of a bore of the firearm to a bore alignment point on the graphic display. In one form, the display device displays a sight target on the graphic display wherein the sight target is visually perceived by a marksman and is offset from the bore alignment point by an offset distance. In one form, the software application calculates the sight target relative to the bore alignment point of the firearm given a set of condition variables.
