Crossbow with traveling trigger and conventional bow

A crossbow may include a main beam and a bow mechanism having a pair of outwardly extending bow limbs, a pair of bowstring wheels, a bowstring and at least one power cord that extends between the bow limbs. The crossbow may also include a traveling trigger mechanism and a drawing mechanism. The traveling trigger mechanism may hold the bowstring in the un-cocked condition. The drawing mechanism may then be operated to move the traveling trigger mechanism and thus the bow string from the un-cocked condition to a cocked condition.

The present invention relates to methods and apparatus that may enable the folding of a multi-point compression powered archery bow. More specifically, the present invention relates to a foldable archery bow, powered by multiple compression devices, wherein the upper limb and the lower limb may be drawn independently and released together. In some aspects, the bow may be adjustable for draw weight, draw length, and draw weight let-off at full draw length in a fixable frame that may be folded and unfolded.

Projectile launcher

The projectile launcher includes a riser base, an elongate barrel assembly attached to the riser base, a crank mechanism attached to the back of the barrel assembly, a trigger assembly, and an internal bow assembly mounted to the riser base. The crank assembly includes a rotatable crank for selective reciprocation of a cocking carriage riding inside a rail system in the barrel assembly. The cocking carriage selectively engages a projectile nock carriage riding within the rail system to push the nock carriage into a cocked position. The internal bow assembly includes vertically spaced upper and lower resilient bow arms and a system of pulleys and cables interconnecting the bow arms and the nock carriage. Cocking to the nock carriage flexes the bow arms in preparation for placement and firing of a projectile. The working components of the projectile launcher are enclosed by a covering to protect the user.

Bow for launching an arrow

A bow for launching a projectile has a stock extending along a longitudinal axis and adapted for receiving the projectile. A biasing element has a traveling end and is biased in a direction generally parallel to the longitudinal axis. A launcher has a traveling end adapted to engage the projectile for propelling the projectile in a forward direction. A launch system is mounted to the stock and has a leveraging component, the traveling end of the biasing element being coupled to the traveling end of the launcher through the launch system. Movement of the traveling end of the biasing element at a first rate from a cocked position to a released position during launch causes forward movement of the traveling end of the launcher at a second rate higher than the first rate, thereby launching the projectile from the stock.
