Projectile launcher
09719749 · 2017-08-01 ·

The projectile launcher includes a riser base, an elongate barrel assembly attached to the riser base, a crank mechanism attached to the back of the barrel assembly, a trigger assembly, and an internal bow assembly mounted to the riser base. The crank assembly includes a rotatable crank for selective reciprocation of a cocking carriage riding inside a rail system in the barrel assembly. The cocking carriage selectively engages a projectile nock carriage riding within the rail system to push the nock carriage into a cocked position. The internal bow assembly includes vertically spaced upper and lower resilient bow arms and a system of pulleys and cables interconnecting the bow arms and the nock carriage. Cocking to the nock carriage flexes the bow arms in preparation for placement and firing of a projectile. The working components of the projectile launcher are enclosed by a covering to protect the user.

Bow for launching an arrow
09714808 · 2017-07-25 ·

A bow for launching a projectile has a stock extending along a longitudinal axis and adapted for receiving the projectile. A biasing element has a traveling end and is biased in a direction generally parallel to the longitudinal axis. A launcher has a traveling end adapted to engage the projectile for propelling the projectile in a forward direction. A launch system is mounted to the stock and has a leveraging component, the traveling end of the biasing element being coupled to the traveling end of the launcher through the launch system. Movement of the traveling end of the biasing element at a first rate from a cocked position to a released position during launch causes forward movement of the traveling end of the launcher at a second rate higher than the first rate, thereby launching the projectile from the stock.

SPRING COMPRESSOR FOR AN AIRGUN
20170198789 · 2017-07-13 ·

A spring compressor for compressing a power spring of an air gun within a compression tube of the air gun includes a beam that extends along a longitudinal axis between a first end and a second end. The beam includes a pair of opposing clamp surfaces for engaging a picatinny style accessory rail. A clamp system disposed adjacent the first end of the beam. The clamp system is operable to directly engage the accessory rail in clamping engagement. A compressor includes a rod in threaded engagement with a post, which is mounted adjacent the second end of the beam. Rotation of the threaded rod relative to the post moves the threaded rod axially along the longitudinal axis relative to the beam.

Magnus effect cylindrical projectile and launcher
09683807 · 2017-06-20 ·

A toy projectile and launcher system. The projectile is tubular in shape and lightweight. The projectile has an exterior surface that is symmetrically disposed about an imaginary longitudinal axis. The launcher has a holding trough that receives and holds the tubular projectile. Within the launcher is a spring loaded element. The spring loaded element selectively moves between a cocked position and a released position. The spring loaded element contacts the projectile in the holding trough as the spring loaded element moves from its cocked position to its released position. Contact with the spring loaded element causes the tubular projectile to launch into flight in a direction perpendicular to its longitudinal axis. Simultaneously, contact with the spring loaded element imparts a spinning rotation to the projectile, wherein the projectile spins about its longitudinal axis in flight. The spinning creates a Magnus effect on the projectile.

PISTOL DART GAME

A dart game system that includes: a dart projecting pistol; a dart; a string attached to one end of the dart; a spool, where the spool stores the string prior to launching the dart towards a target; and a bracket that secures the spool to the dart projecting pistol. The pistol may include a barrel, a spring within the barrel, a hammer, a trigger, a trigger guard and a grip. Preferably, the target is a game board, where the game board includes a plurality of spaces representing aspects of a dart game. The plurality of spaces may include a number or a letter designated on each space.

PERSONAL SELF-DEFENSE DEVICE
20170102206 · 2017-04-13 ·

An arming assembly for a personal self-defense device includes a substantially closed-ended cylindrical member having a first end and a second end, the cylindrical member having an interior chamber. At least one opening being formed within the first end for the inserting and exiting of a porcupine quill. A translatable piston includes a spring and a disc being disposed within the interior chamber. At least one arm being attached to the spring in order to compress and release the spring and translate the disc toward the second end. At least one quill is inserted into the opening formed within the first end and sits in an associated indentation formed within the disc. Once the arm is released, the quill is projected forward and exits through the opening formed within the first end, which is aimed at a would-be attacker. The arming assembly may be double-acting by having conjoined opposed similar components.

Method and an apparatus to shoot an object from a flying apparatus
09611044 · 2017-04-04 · ·

The object of this invention is a method to shoot an object from a flying apparatus. Into an flying apparatus, into certain part of it, like a container that consists at least of a bottom and a shell a spring will be placed, like a push spring that has been loaded in a tense state and that is locked in this position using a fixing organ and further there will be put as an extension of the spring an object to be shot out from the flying apparatus. The fixing organ is thread, metal cord, bar, strip, rope, line, or some combination of these and tension strength (T) is greater than the tension load of the push force (F) to the mentioned fixing organ. the tension strength (T) of the fixing organ is weakened to be less than the mentioned tension load by heating, burning, or melting the mentioned fixing organ by electric energy when the fixing organ breaks, the spring expands into the direction of the object and the push force (F) pushes the object out of the container and off the flying apparatus. The apparatus that is used in the present method is also an object of the invention.
