Accessory camera for optical hunting scopes

An accessory for coupling to a conventional rifle scope captures sight images through the scope and transmits them through wi-fi to a remote location. The telescopic sight eyepiece is fitted into the front of a tubular portion of the accessory. An adjustable collet nut threadably and coaxially engages the scope eyelet. The scope image is transmitted through the housing from the front to a rear eyepiece through which the user can view images. The image passes through an optical splitter that directs duplicate images to an adjustable camera mounted on a slidable carriage disposed within the housing. A rack and pinion driven by a thumb wheel accessible from the housing exterior displaces the carriage for focusing. Processed camera images are delivered to a wi-fi circuit to transmit images to a remote Smart-phone, equipped with a suitable software program (i.e., an app) for decoding the images and recording snapshots and movies.

A first sighting aperture having a first size is provided adjacent a distal end of the arm. A selector member on the arm has a second sighting aperture of a second size and is slidably movable between at least a first position in which the first sighting aperture is unobstructed and a second position in which the second sighting aperture is aligned with the first sighting aperture to present a reduced-size sighting aperture.

Methods and systems for aligning a point of aim with a point of impact for a projectile device are disclosed. Using a superposition device coupled to the projectile device, at least one optical reference point is superposed within a first target area with at least one beam from the superposition device. A position of at least one of the optical reference points is noted. A projectile is expelled from the projectile device at a second target area, while the position of the at least one optical reference point is maintained, to create the point of impact. The point of aim for the projectile device is adjusted to align with the point of impact while the position of the at least one optical reference point is maintained.

A turret system for use with a firearm scope is provided, wherein the turret system comprises a plurality of turrets connected in an interlocked and telescoping orientation. The system may include a first turret having a hollow body and a second turret that may be at least partially received within the hollow body of the first turret. The first turret can be selectively axially movable relative to the second turret such that the second turret may be at least partially exposed when the first turret is in a raised position and the second turret may be substantially covered when the first turret is in a lowered position. The first turret may include a first set of calibration data thereon tailored to a first set of shooting conditions and the second turret may include a second set of calibration data thereon tailored to a second set of shooting conditions.

The payload can be a laser pointer mounted on a firearm, which maintains the initial precise pointing during and after exposure in high G shock and vibration environments. Vertical and lateral adjustment controls can adjust minute changes in beam orientation. Precision adjustments can be performed in a zero G, one G, or high G environment and maintains the adjustment during and after being exposed to a high G shock or vibration environment.

The shooting system can further comprise an aim assist system in communication with the targeting system that functions to receive information corresponding to the aim deviation, the aim assist system comprising a momentum transfer system supported by the firearm and operable to induce a motion within the firearm to manipulate the actual aiming vector of the firearm and to correct for the aim deviation.
