Simulation of missile signatures
An emitting structure for simulating an irradiance signature of a missile is provided. The emitting structure includes one or more radiation sources, each of which includes at least one ultraviolet radiation source and at least one infrared radiation source. The emitting structure also includes a spherical shell and a mechanism for positioning the radiation source(s) along a three dimensional boundary of the spherical shell. The emitting structure can locate and operate one of the radiation sources to simulate the irradiance signature of the missile.
ESTABLISHING A TIME ZERO FOR TIME DELAY DETONATION
The system and method for accurately determining range-to-go for a time-delayed command detonation of a projectile. Using dual laser and/or radio frequency detectors on the tail and on the nose of a spinning projectile to determine the range-to-go, time-to-go, and/or lateral offset from the projectile to the target. A time to detonation clock is used to determine when a projectile transitions from an exterior to an interior of a structure such that the projectile can more accurately detonate within a fixed structure.
System and method for detecting hit locations using the time domain
A time domain detection system to measure and report on hypervelocity impacts HVI between an interceptor vehicle and a target vehicle. Wherein, said time domain detection system comprises a target vehicle components installed on said target vehicle, a one or more panels arranged on a portion of said target vehicle at a potential HVI locations, and a hit detection system wired into said one or more panels. Said target vehicle components comprise at least said hit detection system, and a lines. Said one or more panels are wired into said hit detection system with said lines. Said hit detection system is configured to communicate with said one or more panels over said lines. Said one or more panels can each comprise a one or more detector panel layers, and a two or more insulator layers.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR DETECTING AND/OR TRACKING A PROJECTILE
A device for detecting and/or tracking a projectile has a receiving antenna, for receiving at least an electromagnetic signal emitted by at least one radar, at least one amplifier configured to amplify the electromagnetic signal received by the receiving antenna, and at least one emitting antenna. The emitting antenna is configured to return, at an output of the device, an amplified electromagnetic signal for calculating data indicative of the trajectory of the projectile based at least on the amplified electromagnetic signal. A system for detecting a projectile has a transmitting device mounted on the projectile, a radar configured to sense an electromagnetic signal produced and sent by the transmitting device. The signals emitted from the projectile are limited to the electromagnetic signal sent by the transmitting device, and a processing unit, configured to calculate data indicative of the trajectory of the projectile, based on the sensing of the electromagnetic signal.
System integration
A method and apparatus for generating, in an aircraft in flight, a feasibility display indicative of the feasibility of a weapon, the method comprising: providing a performance envelope for the weapon; determining, using the performance envelope, configuration data for configuring a generic algorithm; uploading the configuration data to the aircraft; generating feasibility data indicative of the feasibility of a weapon carried on the aircraft successfully engaging a target and/or the feasibility of a weapon carried on the target successfully engaging the aircraft; determining, on board the aircraft, using the same generic algorithm and the uploaded configuration data, one or more test criteria; performing, on board the aircraft, an assessment process including determining whether or not the feasibility data satisfies the one or more test criteria; and, based the assessment, using the feasibility data, generating the feasibility display.
MOBILE BODY CONTROL SYSTEM, MOBILE BODY CONTROL DEVICE, MOBILE BODY CONTROL METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
Provided is a technique capable of moving a mobile body to an appropriate position and eliminating the mobile body. This mobile body control system is provided with: a false signal generation unit that generates a false signal for calculating a position different from the actual position of the mobile body on the basis of signal code information which the mobile body has received to calculate the position thereof; and a false signal transmission unit that transmits the generated false signal into a prescribed region.
Dual mode seeker
A dual mode RF/IR seeker suitable for use in an anti-radiation missile is disclosed. The infrared sensor is responsive to radiation within the 4.0 to 4.8 micron band and the radio frequency sensor is responsive to radio frequency signals within a 6.5 to 16.5 GHz band. The infrared sensor comprises a folded Cassegrainian telescope arrangement, including a primary mirror which is transparent to radio frequency energy. The radio frequency sensor comprises an annular array of orthogonally disposed stripline flared notch radiating elements. A broadband microwave receiver, fabricated in a multilayered stripline package, is provided for forming radio frequency monopulse sum (E) and difference (A) signals and for converting such radio frequency monopulse signals to suitable intermediate frequency signals for processing in an I.F. receiver.
Energy insertion into seeker
A system and method for improved detection of lasers for use in laser guidance systems. By providing background illumination via one or more radiation sources the accuracy of the laser detection system can be improved. A closed loop system detects the background current on the detector and provides additional illumination when the back ground level is below a threshold current value thus providing for a faster detector response.
System and method for generating tactical routes
A method and system for generating tactical routes includes an intervisibility database pre-populated with pre-computed optical lines of sight between locations or nodes in geographic terrain, an intervisibility analyzer for analyzing propagation of the pre-computed optical lines of sight between the locations or nodes in the geographic terrain, a speed analyzer for analyzing speeds of travelers across the locations or nodes in the geographic terrain, a cost generator for generating a blended cost grid using said intervisibility and speed analyses, and a route generator for generating routes that facilitate tactical movement based on said blended cost grid. The route generator computes intervisibility unions at the locations or nodes in the geographic terrain and minimizing intervisibility unions along the generated route.
ANTENNA POSITIONING SYSTEM
An Antenna Positioning System for missile seeker and system development and test comprises an antenna module, and a plurality of tethers, wherein the antenna module is suspended in a position by the tethers and the position is capable of being changed and the antenna module manoeuvred by pulling at least one tether and simultaneously releasing at least one tether.
