Aiming-assistance method and device for laser guidance of a projectile
10281239 · 2019-05-07 · ·

A method and a device for assisting aiming at a target, in particular for the purpose of improving the accuracy with which a projectile is guided towards said target by means of a laser beam. The method makes use of a camera serving to capture either a complete image of the environment, or else a selective image of said target in said environment. Thereafter, the method makes it possible to verify that said laser beam is indeed pointing at said target by displaying the point of contact of said laser beam in said environment on the image captured by said camera, and then to determine the accuracy with which said laser beam is indeed pointing at said target. As a function of said accuracy, launching of said projectile may either be confirmed or cancelled. This method also makes it possible to identify the code of said guide beam illuminating said target.

Missile for use in a laser beam riding missile guidance system
10274288 · 2019-04-30 · ·

A method for aligning a missile with a target in a laser beam riding missile guidance system, the system including a laser transmitter for generating and projecting a laser information field towards the target and an optical sight for aiming the laser beam towards the target, the method comprising: determining a point in the laser information field with which the missile is currently aligned; determining a distance of the target from the missile; determining an angular displacement between the missile's current direction of travel and the direction in which the target lies from the missile; determining, based on said distance and angular displacement, a new point in the laser information field with which the missile should be aligned to reach the target; and controlling missile guidance systems on board the missile to bring the missile into alignment with the new point in the laser information field.

The launch control system comprises a plurality of operation equipments, a system control device, and control the plurality of operation equipments, a launch control packet processing unit, a control signal distribution device, and a status display device.

Method for performing exo-atmospheric missile's interception trial

There is provided an inflatable dummy target comprising a chassis wrapped with a sheet. The chassis can be formed by individual inflatable ducts and can comprise at least two ring-shaped ducts interconnected by one or more elongate ducts. The inflatable dummy target can further comprise rigidizing ducts. The inflatable dummy target geometry can be conical, cylindrical, etc. Optionally, the inflatable dummy target can comprise several attached axi-symmetrical sections, wherein each section has a chassis wrapped with a sheet, the chassis formed by individual inflatable ducts. Optionally, the shape of each section can be selected from the group consisting of conical, frustoconical and cylindrical forms.

TARGET ASSIGNMENT SYSTEM, COMMAND SYSTEM, AND TARGET ASSIGNMENT METHOD
20190093988 · 2019-03-28 ·

A target assignment system, includes a sensor system which detects a position, of a moving vehicle, an assigning section which determines the launcher system assigned with the moving vehicle in response to the position of the moving vehicle and generates a first display signal which shows the moving vehicle and a first launcher system, a display section which displays the moving vehicle and the assigned launcher system in real time in response to the display signal, and an input section which instructs a change of the assigned launcher system. The assigning section generates a second display signal in which the first launcher system is changed to a second launcher system, in response to an instruction of assignment change.

Systems and methods for acquiring and launching and guiding missiles to multiple targets

Systems and methods that can be used in lightweight vehicles, such as lightweight small Armed Aerial Scout (AAS) vehicles, and can provide small, lightweight weapons capable of Fire and Forget type performance to defeat the next generation Swarm Weapon Systems, such as, groups of high speed attack boats armed with anti ship weapons, are disclosed.

ACTIVE PROTECTION AGAINST BEAM-RIDING GUIDED MUNITION
20240247916 · 2024-07-25 ·

The presently disclosed subject matter includes an active protection system and a method, dedicated for detecting, locating, and incapacitating beam-riding missiles and in that way protecting an asset from being targeted by the missile. According to some examples following receipt of a threat-indication, the active protection system estimates a location of a beam used for directing a threat (e.g., ATGM) to the target and launches an aerial platform that flies in the opposite direction along the beam until it meets and incapacitates the incoming threat.

Multimode unmanned aerial vehicle
10222177 · 2019-03-05 · ·

A system comprising an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) configured to transition from a terminal homing mode to a target search mode, responsive to an uplink signal and/or an autonomous determination of scene change.

Digital light processing guidance system

The system and method for a digital light processing (DLP) guidance system having a digital light processing (DLP) mirror array at the laser source. A receiver tracks location of the air-borne object using a retro reflector on a pulse-to-pulse basis. The DLP mirror array tracks the air-borne object with a non-scanning beam and immediately provides a correction update to the controller using a pulse repetition interval (PRI) varying code. The system can be packaged in a small format, at a lower cost, and with a higher reliability.

LASER DESIGNATION VERIFICATION TOOL

Techniques are provided for a laser designation verification device and a method of laser designation verification using the device. The laser designation verification device includes: a lens to sense a first reflection, the first reflection coming from an encoded first laser beam reflecting off a first target; an electronic processing element to decode the sensed first reflection into a first code; and a portable electronic annunciator to provide identification of the first target to an operator of the device based on the decoded first reflection. The method includes: sensing a first reflection using the lens, the first reflection coming from an encoded first laser beam reflecting off a first target; decoding the sensed first reflection into a first code using the processing element; and providing, by the annunciator to an operator of the device, identification of the first target based on the decoded first reflection.
