Transparent display with eye protection
A transparent display provides eye protection from lasers and other high intensity light sources. The transparent display allows users to view objects clearly through the display while also presenting text, graphics or video on the display surface. Simultaneously, the display assembly comprises a component that provides eye protection against high power radiation sources. The transparent display with eye protection provides both protection from high power light sources and an additional cockpit display surface for presentation of information including graphical images, symbology, video, text, and other data.
Detection of discharge of projectile from firearm
Disclosed are methods and systems for detection of a discharge of a projectile from a firearm. An example method for detection of a discharge of a projectile from a firearm may commence with recording environmental audio by at least one microphone associated with at least one electronic device. The method may continue with triggering, by a processing unit associated with the at least one electronic device, based on predetermined triggering criteria, a frequency analysis of the environmental audio. The analysis may be performed to determine a likelihood of the projectile being discharged from the firearm. The method may further include transferring, by a data transfer unit associated with the at least one electronic device, results of the frequency analysis from the at least one electronic device to a data storage unit for post-processing.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ACTIVE SHOOTER DEFENSE
A security system including: a detector that senses and detects a physical threat to persons in a protected area; and a defensive weapon in the protected area that deploys to disable a detected physical threat. The defensive weapon can be, for example, a guided ordnance, a guided weaponized UAV, or a combination thereof. Also disclosed are methods of making and using the security system.

AIRBORNE DRONES WITH NON-PHYSICAL DISTRACTORS
Embodiments of the invention include a drone system or method for distracting a threat with a light source. In some embodiments, an environment can be scanned with a sensor that produces sensor data. A threat within the environment can be identified from the sensor data, and the location of the threat can be determined. The light source can be aimed toward the threat; and light may be directed from the light source toward the threat.

Adaptive energy absorber for structural isolation and injury mitigation
An energy absorbing strut having, a first end coupled with an inner cylinder, and a second end connected with a hollow rod extending within the inner cylinder. A piston is carried by the rod having an outer surface sealing against an inside diameter of the inner cylinder and forming a compression chamber and a rebound chamber bounded by the piston, the rod having an internal passageway communicating between the compression chamber and the rebound chamber. An inertial mass carried by the rod movable axially on the rod between a closed position against and annular rod passageway and an open position opening the rod passageway and allowing the flow of a hydraulic fluid between the compression chamber and the rebound chamber. A spring acts on the inertial mass biasing the inertial mass toward the closed position. The energy absorbing strut may be used in a blast mitigation system for a military vehicle or other applications for providing shock isolation between two structures.

Low Earth Orbit Neutral Impulse Defense And Salvage (LEONIDAS) Launch System And Method Of Fabrication
A low Earth orbit neutral impulse defense and salvage (LEONIDAS) launch system includes a base having multiple flexible limbs including cross-bow limbs and recoil limbs. The LEONIDAS launch system also includes a solar powered mechanical drive system on the base configured to position the flexible limbs in desired positions and a rotary magazine on the base configured to hold multiple sub-vessels that are configured to perform different activities in space such as defense and salvage. The LEONIDAS launch system also includes one or more launch cables attached to the cross-bow limbs configured to impart the launch power to the sub-vessels during launch into low earth orbits.
Dome-based cyclic inert sealing system for external floating roof tank and QHSE storage and transport method thereof
A dome-based cyclic inert sealing system for an external floating roof tank includes the external floating roof tank, a dome structure, an inert sealing pipeline, and a gas source servo device; wherein the dome structure is formed by a top portion of a tank wall of the external floating roof tank for sealing; the dome structure together with an internal wall of the external floating roof tank, a floating plate and a sealing device form a gas phase space which is isolated from atmosphere, so as to fill the gas phase space with an inert sealing medium; the inert sealing medium is a gas fire-fighting medium used in a suffocation fire-fighting method; the gas source servo device is connected to the gas phase space through the inert sealing pipeline and communicates through a valve for feedback-controlling states of the inert sealing medium in the gas phase space.
