Interlocking riot shield
11519699 · 2022-12-06 ·

An interlocking riot shield comprises a traditional riot shield having a pair female spring-loaded locks on a first shield vertical edge and a pair of male spring-loaded locks on a second shield vertical edge. Each riot shield is configured to join to an identical riot shield when the male edge interacts with the female edge. A pair of interlocked riot shields may be disengaged by means of the spring-loaded mechanism.

Perception Prediction Illumination Feedback
20220385020 · 2022-12-01 ·

A system having a perception of its general environment is described. The general environment may include its surroundings, circuits, power supply, optics, emitters, software processing, and other things that may affect its perception system or sensors and biases associated with data processing. With this information, it may be able to adapt to the general environment with little human intervention. Dynamic updating and calibration of the environment or sensors in the environment may be provided. From one time frame to another, location or other information can be more efficiently rendered or decoded. Knowing the spacing of receivers may allow time delay calculations. Real world environmental changes may impact the relative location and or properties of these sensors. Observation or communication of these changes can be used to predict assembly and processing or projection of energies for a desired effect.

System and method for predictive compensation of uplink laser beam atmospheric jitter for high energy laser weapon systems
11513191 · 2022-11-29 · ·

A system includes a target illumination laser (TIL) configured to illuminate an airborne target with a TIL beam. The system also includes a beacon illuminator (BIL) configured to transmit a spot of illumination to an expected location on the target, wherein the spot of illumination is more focused than the TIL beam. The system also includes a camera configured to receive an image of the spot reflected off the target. The system also includes a controller configured to determine an actual location of the spot on the target based on the received image. The controller is also configured to estimate a spot motion by correlating the actual location of the spot on the target with the expected location on the target. The controller is also configured to predict uplink jitter of a high energy laser (HEL) beam generated by a HEL based on the BIL spot motion, the uplink jitter caused by atmospheric optical turbulence.

Insect zapper gun with electrified projectile
11510403 · 2022-11-29 · ·

An insect zapper gun is capable of killing a target insect at a distance from the user. The zapper gun incudes an electrifiable projectile fired from a handheld base. When the projectile comes into contact with the target insect, an electric charge on the projectile is transmitted to the insect rendering the insect deceased.

SMALL REMOTE-ACTING ELECTROSHOCK WEAPON
20220373302 · 2022-11-24 ·

The invention relates to a non-lethal remote-acting electroshock weapon with electrical stunning means for use by law enforcement agencies and for civilian self-defense. The result achieved is the creation of a small remote-acting electroshock weapon capable of displaying an electrical spark discharge and operating in direct contact when loaded with a firing cartridge, and of allowing rapid reloading of the weapon with increased safety for the user. A small remote-acting electroshock weapon comprising a non-conductive housing with a cavity for a firing cartridge activated by a low voltage and having launchable current-conducting wires and a pyrotechnic device arranged inside the firing cartridge for releasing the firing cartridge from the housing of the weapon, a source of electrical energy, and a high-voltage stunning pulse generator having an electrical deactivation switch, is characterized in that it has: a movable mechanical safety trigger which can be controlled by a finger of a hand holding the weapon and interacts with the electrical deactivation switch of the high-voltage stunning pulse generator and with an additional electrical switch for preventing firing of the firing cartridge; a safety lock for preventing movement of the safety trigger in the event of unauthorized movement thereof and for locking the firing cartridge in the housing during firing; and a catch for locking the firing cartridge in the housing, said catch being controllable by the hand with which the user is holding the weapon.

Void-based metamaterials
11506470 · 2022-11-22 · ·

A porous metamaterial is disclosed, comprising a matrix (101) having a plurality of voids (103) therein, wherein a content of interest (104) is trapped within each of at least part of the voids (103), detached from the matrix (101), thereby providing a respective unit-cell (100) of the metamaterial, with an intended predetermined property associated with the presence of the content of interest (104) within the at least one void (103). A variety of applications of the disclosed metamaterials are presented, including armors having either non-Newtonian fluids or magnetic particles confined within the voids as a content of interest. Upon subjecting the magnetic particles to a rotating magnetic field, the magnetic particles spin within the voids and gain angular momentum, thereby improving the resistance of the armor against penetration. Systems and methods for manufacturing porous metamaterial units having contents of interest confined within voids therein, are also disclosed.

System and method of providing a projectile module having a net with a drawstring

A projectile cartridge that can be removably attached to a flying vehicle is disclosed. A system can include a first flying vehicle, a projectile attachment mechanism configured with the first flying vehicle, a projectile cartridge that contains a projectile, the projectile cartridge being removably attachable to the projectile attachment mechanism, a weight attached to the projectile, the weight being configured in a releasable configuration in the projectile cartridge and a drawstring configured with the projectile. After firing the projectile, when tension is applied to the drawstring as the projectile approaches or envelops a second flying vehicle, the tension can cause the drawstring to close the projectile down to secure the second flying vehicle.

Protective coverings and related methods for entangling projectiles

A grappling assembly for use with an entangling projectile includes at least one hook including an apex portion and a sharpened prong extending distally from the apex portion. A protective cover is positioned adjacent the apex portion of the at least one hook, the protective cover including at least one substantially planar surface. The sharpened prong of the at least one hook extends distally from the protective cover and thereby remaining exposed while the protective cover is positioned adjacent the apex portion of the at least one hook. The at least one hook and the protective cover are formed as an integral unit, or as a continuous, solid piece.

Missile for intercepting alien drones

The capturing of the alien drone is improved by the fact that the capturing net (9) can be ejected by a first means and the weights (15) can be ejected by a second means, wherein the weights (15) and the capturing net (9) can be ejected at different times from the missile (1).

Calculating a distance between a conducted electrical weapon and a target

The number of pulses of a stimulus signal provided by a conducted electrical weapon (“CEW”) between launch and establishing an electrical circuit with a human or animal target may be counted to determine the distance between the CEW and the target and the distance between electrodes launched by the CEW toward the target while positioned in or near target tissue.
