Method and system for estimating the position of the point of impact between a clay target released from a launching machine and a shot fired from the shotgun, choke selection based on said estimate

A method for selecting a choke from among a plurality of chokes to be applied to a barrel of a shotgun during a skeet shooting session is provided. The method involves firing at least one shot, after each shot fired, estimating a position of a point of impact between a clay target released from a launching machine and a shot fired from the shotgun of a shooter, calculating an impact distance between a position of the shooter and the estimated position of the point of impact, and selecting the choke as a function of the impact distance or of an average of impact distances obtained from a plurality of estimates of positions of the point of impact made after each one of a plurality of shots.

Single wire hit detection apparatus

In an approach to single wire hit detection, an apparatus comprises: a plurality of hit detection patches, each of the plurality of hit detection patches comprising an associated single coiled wire, and each of the plurality of hit detection patches being disposed overlapping at least one other hit detection patch of the plurality of hit detection patches; and a controller coupled to the associated single coiled wire of each hit detection patch of the plurality of hit detection patches, the controller configured to determine a location of one or more of the plurality of hit detection patches impacted by a projectile.

WEARABLE DEVICE

The invention features methods and devices for controlling bleeding from blood vessels that may be damaged as a result of trauma or impact with an object, such as a bullet or shrapnel. The device may be wearable by a user and include one or more components, such as wound sealant and multiple inflatable balloons/bladders. The device may be integrated into a garment, e.g., a vest, jacket, trousers, or full body suit. Once triggered (automatically or manually), the device may be used to deliver wound sealant to a wound site and/or pressure to the wound site by selective inflation of one or more balloons over exsanguinating blood vessels that may be damaged, thereby stopping or minimizing the bleeding. Alternatively, or in addition, the device may be used to stabilize a wounded wearer for, e.g., transportation purposes, or to provide buoyancy. Devices of the invention may also be used as a blood pressure monitor, as a massaging device, and as a breast pump.

Devices and methods of the invention may also be used for repairing or stabilizing machines, such as vehicles (e.g., automobiles and boats).

An archery tuning apparatus includes two light detection units, each comprising a line laser source emitting a planar fan of laser light and a curved array of spaced-apart light sensors. The units are configured with parallel laser fans, creating an overlap target region when viewed along a normal axis. The curved sensor arrays, with radii of curvature approximating their irradiation distances, optimize detection accuracy. Integrated circuitry and software collect and analyze data from arrows shot through the target region during tuning sessions. The apparatus connects to a mobile device, which stores and displays tuning session information through a dedicated app. This system provides archers with precise measurements of arrow speed and skew, offering advantages over traditional paper tuning methods. The mobile interface allows for easy data management, equipment tracking, and remote technical assistance, enhancing the overall archery tuning experience.
