20180202776 · 2018-07-19 · ·

Shooting training systems have a self-propelled robotic target support platform operable to navigate on an extended surface, the platform supporting a target, the platform including a sensor array adapted to detect and register shot information about a shot generated by a shooter passing proximate the target, a transmitter on the platform adapted to transmit the shot information, and a receiver associated with the shooter adapted to receive the shot information and to provide shot information to the shooter. The platform may be a vehicle adapted to operate over a ground surface in any direction. The platform may be a watercraft. The platform may be a wheeled vehicle. The sensor array may be adapted to detect and register shot information including a location and direction of the shot. There may be a plurality of robotic target support platforms, each having a sensor array. The receiver may be adjacent to the shooter.

MOBILE TARGET CARRIER FOR GUN RANGE WITH COUPLED MOBILE PROJECTOR

A system for projecting an image of a target is provided. In one embodiment, the system comprises a rail having a longitudinal axis; a target carrier coupled to the rail such that the target carrier can translate along the longitudinal axis of the rail; a motor and motion controller coupled to the target carrier wherein the motor is configured to cause the target carrier to translate along the longitudinal axis of the rail; a projector carrier coupled to the rail and held in fixed relational position to the target carrier; and a projector affixed to the projector carrier and oriented to point back towards the target carrier. In some embodiments, one or more cameras may also be added to the target carrier, projector carrier, or both.

Target system

A target system designed to be stand-alone and modular which includes a target area which is two or more sided and which can be rotated through a large number of different positions and rotations. The system can also include systems for projectile impact recognition. Target rotation is generally accomplished through a target base that is in communication with and configured to receive data input from a remote target controller.

An automatically resetting target has a plate that rests in a removable base at a substantially vertical orientation. An apparatus mounted to the rear of the plate includes a pivotably mounted carriage with first and second legs extending radially away, at a relative angle, from a pivot point that is mounted between two openings. The first leg has a first striker plate that aligns with the first opening when the carriage is in a first position, and the second leg has a second striker plate that aligns with the second opening when the carriage is in a second position. By striking the first striker with a projectile, such as a bullet, a shooter moves the carriage and places the second striker behind the second hole. By striking the second striker with a projectile, the shooter moves the carriage and places the first striker behind the first hole.

RESETTING GUN TARGET

An example resetting gun target includes a first curved rocking member; a second curved rocking member; a connector portion joining the first rocking member and the second rocking member and maintaining a space between the first rocking member and the second rocking member; and a central target panel attached to the connector portion and situated in the space between the first curved rocking member and the second curved rocking member. The resetting gun target may further include paddle portions respectively situated at a first end and a second end of each of the first curved rocking member and the second curved rocking member.
