A method and apparatus for stopping an impeller-driven watercraft is includes distributing a plurality of submunitions in advance of a path of the impeller-driven watercraft. Each of the submunitions includes a buoyant member, a first end cap, and a second end cap; the second end cap is heavier than the first end cap. A lanyard connects the first end cap to the second end cap, optionally passing through the buoyant member. At least one of the submunitions enters an intake vent of the impeller-driven watercraft and attaches to a blade of an impeller of the impeller-driven watercraft, causing cavitation and imbalance, thereby slowing the impeller-driven watercraft.

Warhead for generating a blast on an extended region of a target surface

The present invention relates to warheads with blast wave conditioners and in particular to devices for quickly removing a door to permit entry through the doorway. It discloses a device and method of shaping the pressure wave pattern by the use of inert material. The inert material of the present invention is used to reduce localized directional effects occurring at the point of impact, instead generating a more diffuse pressure-wave pattern across the target surface.

Projectile with reduced ricochet risk

The invention relates to a projectile (5) with a frangible material, for short-range ammunition. To prevent any significant losses of precision and prevent the internal ballistic loading from being so great that it leads to the destruction of the projectile, it is suggested according to the invention that the projectile (5) consists of a shell (4) made of brass, the shell (4) has, seen in the direction of flight, a front cylindrical receiving space (4a) and a rear cylindrical receiving space (4b), the two receiving spaces (4a, 4b) are arranged coaxially with the longitudinal axis (15) of the projectile and are separated from each other by a partition wall (16), the partition wall (16) forms the floor (18) of the front receiving space (4a), and a core (1) of a frangible material is inserted in the front receiving space (4a), the tip (17) of the core (1) protrudes out of the front receiving space (4a), and at least one predetermined breaking point (2), running around the circumference of the shell (4), is formed in the shell (4) in the region of the partition wall (16).

A mounting system for mounting an electronic component (2) in a housing (8) comprises a visco-elastic damping element (14, 20) for damping the transmission of vibration from the housing (8) to the component (2) in use, and a support (24, 52) for supporting the component (2) in the housing (8) independently of the damping element (14, 20) whereby the weight of the component (2) is substantially or completely removed from the damping element (14, 20). The support (24, 52) is configured to be selectively releasable from the component (2) such that the component (2) is then supported only by the damping element (14, 20).

ELECTROMAGNETIC MOBILE ACTIVE SYSTEM

An electromagnetic mobile active system for fitting in a missile with a detonation-operated magnetic field compressor. The magnetic field compressor has at least one stator coil and at least one armature casing, which is at least partially surrounded by the stator coil and kept at a radial distance. The magnetic field compressor has at least one explosive charge embedded in the armature casing. The magnetic field compressor has at least one power source. For activating the detonation of the explosive charge, a trigger system is provided. The trigger system can be controlled by a pulse of current from the power source, depending on a signal supplied by the missile. A great amount of electrical energy can be generated in the stator coil by the detonation. For the directional radiation of the electrical energy generated by the detonation of the explosive charge, the active system has at least one directional antenna.
