Method and apparatus for checking dimensions of a mechanical part
An apparatus for checking the length (H) of a chamfer (7) delimited by a first surface (5) and by an edge (S), comprises two feelers (15, 25)—movably connected to a same supporting frame (20)—and respective transducers (16,26). The transducers supply signals (T1, T2) indicative of displacements of the respective feelers along mutually perpendicular directions (Y, X). A checking method includes moving the supporting frame at a constant speed so that, during the movement, one of the feelers scans the chamfer and the other cooperates with the first surface. The signals of the respective transducers are acquired and transmitted synchronously to a processing unit (40) which processes them together with information on the mutual position of the two feelers to obtain the length of the chamfer.

A method of in-line automated inspection of a mechanical part comprising receiving a mechanical part datum, orienting the mechanical part datum within a representative inspection system, and examining each face of the plurality of faces of the mechanical part datum, wherein examining each face of the plurality of faces of the mechanical part datum comprises dividing the face into regions as a function of stylus tip data. The method comprises generating a fixture adapter model for the mechanical part datum as a function of a local region of the mechanical part datum, generating a measurement of at least a pair of part geometric data, wherein generating a measurement comprises selecting the at least a pair of part geometric data as a function of the at least an alignment datum and displaying the measurement of at least the pair of part geometric data. The method comprises producing the fixture adapter.

A system for measuring a bending deformation of a surface of a material which cooperates with a bending test machine to deform a test piece. The system includes a first portion with lateral teeth which bear against an upper surface of the test piece. A first load support connected to the lateral teeth applies a constant force towards the test piece. A second portion with a central tooth bears against the upper surface. A second load support connected to the central tooth applies a constant force oriented towards the test piece. A measuring device includes a deformation sensor having a first arm connected to the first portion, and a second arm connected to the second portion. The first arm and the second arm are separated from each other by a variable distance (ΔB) measured by the measuring device.

Articulating arm calibration artifact system and method of use
A system and method of calibrating a measuring instrument is provided. The system includes a support system for quickly and easily securing a low thermal expansion length reference bar in position. The reference bar is coupled to the support beam using a kinematic mounting system that is designed to reduce or eliminate errors associated with over-constraining the reference bar. The system is optimized for field calibration of certain measuring instruments, such as measuring instruments having articulating arms. Opposed first and second ends of the reference bar include respective first and second retroflectors and/or first and second probe receivers at known distances relative to each other, thereby facilitating calibration of the measuring instrument.

The present invention relates to systems and methods for monitoring agricultural products. In particular, the present invention relates to monitoring fruit production, plant growth, and plant vitality. According to embodiments of the invention, a plant analysis system is configured determine a spectral signature of a plant based on spectral data, and plant color based on photographic data. The spectral signatures and plant color are associated with assembled point cloud data. Morphological data of the plant can be generated based on the assembled point cloud data. A record of the plant can be created that associates the plant with the spectral signature, plant color, spectral data, assembled point cloud data, and morphological data, and stored in a library.

U-shaped touch gauge
