COORDINATE POSITIONING MACHINE
A coordinate positioning machine includes a plurality of drive axes, each being a rotary or linear drive axis, for positioning a platform within a working volume of the machine, and a separate linear counterbalance axis for counterbalancing the platform. With this arrangement the counterbalance axis can be substantially invariant to changes in orientation of the drive axes and can be counterbalanced by a simple counterweight. Also, an arrangement wherein the counterbalance axes and force generator are arranged so horizontal movement of the platform causes substantially no net movement of and/or no work to be done on the generator. Also, an arrangement wherein a series of counterbalance axes has at least one rotary counterbalance axis, and the generator is arranged behind or at a predetermined distance from the counterbalance axis. Also, an arrangement having a series of counterbalance axes with at most one rotary counterbalance axis between the generator and ground.

Clamp-On Type Pipeline Measuring Devices and Fixing Structures of the Same
Provided is a fixing structure of a clamp-on type pipeline measuring device, which includes a clamp and an aligning member, the clamp is detachably fixed on an outer surface of a pipeline along an axis on the outer surface of the pipeline, the aligning member is disposed in the clamp, wherein a plane tangent to the outer surface of the pipeline on the axis is defined as an installation datum plane. During detaching and fixing the clamp, the aligning member moves along a normal direction of the installation datum plane; after the clamp is fixed to the outer surface of the pipeline, the aligning member contacts at least two line segments on the outer surface of the pipeline, and distances between the two line segments and the installation datum plane are the same. The clamp-on type pipeline measuring device including the fixing structure is further provided.
Surface shape measuring device and surface shape measuring method
When an index table is installed on a rotary table in a surface shape measuring device, deterioration in measurement accuracy can be suppressed. The surface shape measuring device includes: a rotary table which is configured to place a workpiece thereon and to be freely rotatable around a rotation center axis; and a detector configured to detect a displacement of a probe brought into contact with the workpiece. The rotary table has a centering mechanism configured to align a center axis of the workpiece and the rotation center axis. An index table freely detachably mounted on the rotary table is provided, the index table configured so as to be able to perform indexing along a first axis and a second axis which are perpendicular to the rotation center axis. Eccentric load cancelling means configured to cancel an eccentric load caused by the indexing of the index table is provided.

The illustrated embodiments include an apparatus having a programmable, implantable pacemaker with a controllable pacing rate; and a blood pressure monitoring device having an output communicated to the pacemaker. The pacemaker selectively and automatically modulates pacing rate in response to monitored blood pressure to reduce hypertensive blood pressure in a patient or treatment for DCHF (HPpEF). The embodiments also include a. method tor operating a pacing device to treat drug resistant hypertension which includes the steps of monitoring blood pressure; and controlling rate modulation in the pacing device in response to the monitored blood pressure to selectively prevent excessive pacing to reduce mean arterial blood pressure fay either inhibiting rate modulation in the pacing device or by changing rate modulation parameters.
Measurement arm receptacle device of a measurement system
A measurement arm receptacle device of a measurement system for releasably arranging a measurement arm. The measurement arm receptacle device comprises a holding device that cooperates with a counter holding device of the measurement arm. The holding and counter holding devices may each comprise at least one retaining magnet. The measurement arm receptacle device comprises an electric contact part movable between a rest position and a working position. In the rest position the contact part is electrically connected with an electric reference potential and in the working position the electric contact part is electrically connected with a measurement arm contact of the measurement arm. Thus it can be unambiguously determined via the contact part, if a measurement arm is arranged at the measurement arm receptacle device and additionally a data carrier of the measurement arm electrically connected with the measurement arm contact can be read out.

A workpiece holder, measuring device, and a method for executing a measurement by using the workpiece holder. The workpiece holder is configured to hold a workpiece with two opposite arranged workpiece surfaces to be measured in a way that both are accessible by a moveable probe unit and can thus be measured in one setting of the workpiece. For this the workpiece holder comprises a support and a holding body. The holding body has a holding end away from the support with at least one holding surface at which the workpiece is held. In the holding body a free space is formed that adjoins the workpiece surface facing the support when a workpiece is held and makes the workpiece surface accessible for measuring or probing. The accessibility for the probe unit is provided by a transverse channel extending obliquely or orthogonally to the longitudinal axis of the workpiece holder.
