METHOD AND COATING SYSTEM FOR COATING CAVITY WALLS
The invention relates to a method for coating cavity walls, in particular cylinder bores of engine blocks, In the method, a coating is applied to a cavity wall using a coating lance. In addition, a cavity diameter is measured using a measuring apparatus. According to the invention, the method is characterized in that at least a plurality of diameter values of a first cavity are measured at different heights of the first cavity using the measuring apparatus, and in that a coating of variable thickness is applied to a wall of the first or a second cavity using the coaling lance, the thickness of said coating of variable thickness being dependent on the determined diameter values. The invention additionally describes a corresponding coating system.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MEASURING A VALVE SEAT FORMED IN A PIECE
A device (1) for measuring a valve seat formed in a piece has an elongate shape and defines a longitudinal axis (A), and includes: a slide (9), slidingly coupled to a guide (11) for translating in a scanning direction (B) inclined to the longitudinal axis; a sensor (10), mounted on the slide for measuring a parameter relating to a profile of the seat; a processing unit connected to the sensor; a rotary actuator (13) defining a longitudinal rotation axis substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the device; and a transmission assembly interposed between the rotary actuator and the slide for transforming a rotary motion about a longitudinal rotation axis in a reciprocating linear motion of the slide along the scanning direction.
Resilient mount gage tools
A gage tool having a stem and two concave curved ports adapted to fit snugly to the curved convex corners of a resilient mount facilitates easy and precise measuring of the resilient mount's alignment and snubber gap height.
Surface texture probe and measurement apparatus with a vibrational membrane
A surface texture probe and a surface texture measurement apparatus with a vibrational membrane are provided. The probe includes a housing and a vibrational membrane, a stylus holder, a vertical guide assembly, a guide adjustment assembly and a stylus. An inner end of the vibrational membrane is attached to an upper end of the stylus holder. An outer end of the vibrational membrane is fixed to a vibrational membrane connection assembly fixedly connected to the housing. The vertical guide assembly is fixed inside the housing and slidably connected to the stylus holder and configured to guide the stylus holder to move in a vertical direction. The stylus is fixed to a lower end of the stylus holder. The guide adjustment assembly is mounted on the vertical guide assembly and configured to adjust a sliding friction force between the vertical guide assembly and the stylus holder.
FIXTURE-ASSEMBLING SYSTEM
A system for assembling a fixture to hold a workpiece for measurement by a CMM includes a plurality of fixture components. The fixture components are used to assemble the fixture. The system also includes a fixture plate having a plurality of fixture component securing portions that are configured to couple with the fixture components to define the fixture. The fixture is configured to couple with the workpiece to hold the workpiece in a predefined orientation. A fixture identifier is configured to identify the fixture components, and a securing portion identifier is configured to identify the securing portions that couple with the fixture components. A visual emphasizing unit is configured to visually emphasize one or more of the fixture components and/or one or more of the securing portions to provide an indication of a fixture component that is to be coupled with a corresponding securing portion
INSPECTION GAUGE FOR COORDINATE MEASURING APPARATUS AND ABNORMALITY DETERMINATION METHOD
The inspection gauge is an inspection gauge for a coordinate measuring apparatus having a triangular pyramid shape, and includes a plurality of support members in which first ends are provided at positions corresponding to vertexes of the triangular pyramid and second ends are connected to each other in a region inside the triangular pyramid, and a plurality of spheres provided at positions corresponding to the vertexes of the triangular pyramid on the plurality of support members, and at least three support members of the plurality of support members have mutually different shapes.
A visual emphasizing unit is configured to visually emphasize one or more of the fixture components and/or one or more of the securing portions to provide an indication of a fixture component that is to be coupled with a corresponding securing portion.
DUAL-PATTERN OPTICAL 3D DIMENSIONING
An optical dimensioning system includes one or more light emitting assemblies configured to project one or more predetermined patterns on an object; an imaging assembly configured to sense light scattered and/or reflected off the object, and to capture an image of the object while the patterns are projected; and a processing assembly configured to analyze the image of the object to determine one or more dimension parameters of the object. The light emitting assembly may include a single piece optical component configured for producing a first pattern and second pattern. The patterns may be distinguishable based on directional filtering, feature detection, feature shift detection, or the like. A method for optical dimensioning includes illuminating an object with at least two detectable patterns; and calculating dimensions of the object by analyzing pattern separate of the elements comprising the projected patterns. One or more pattern generators may produce the patterns.
Check pin insertion and removal apparatus and its method of use
An apparatus is selectively controlled to insert a check pin into a fastener hole in a workpiece surface and remove the check pin from the fastener hole. The apparatus is a pneumatically actuated apparatus having a pair of press actuators that are selectively operated to press the check pin attached to a check pin holder of the apparatus into a fastener hole in a workpiece, and a pair of remove actuators that are selectively operated to push against the workpiece surface and move the apparatus away from the workpiece surface to remove the check pin attached to the check pin holder from the fastener hole in the workpiece.
Mounting arrangement for optical systems
An optical system can include an optical arrangement supported by an optical chassis. A flexure arrangement can support the optical chassis relative to a separate structure to maintain a calibrated distance between optical components of the optical arrangement.
