Fuel management
The invention relates to a fuel management system for a vehicle. The fuel management system includes a fill-up sensor located at an inlet of a fuel tank of the vehicle, for determining the volume of fuel flowing into the fuel tank, a fuel supply sensor located in a fuel line between the fuel tank and an engine of the vehicle, for determining the volume of fuel flowing to the engine of the vehicle and a return line sensor located in the fuel return line of the vehicle, for determining the volume of fuel returning to the fuel tank. The system further includes a controller in communication with the fill-up sensor, fuel supply sensor and return line sensor, for collecting data from the sensors, calculating whether there is a fuel deviation between the amount of fuel entering the fuel tank and consumed by the vehicle, and generating fuel deviation events.
Characterization of downhole gas handling systems
An apparatus for testing of downhole multiphase fluid handling systems used in oil and gas production allows test personnel to visually observe the testing. The apparatus is constructed from housings and/or casings made partly or entirely of a see-through material. The see-through material allows for unaided visual observation of the flow regime of the fluid flowing through fluid handling equipment. This eliminates most all of the assumptions that typically need to be made about how well the equipment operates. The ability to clearly observe the flow regimes unassisted allows for accurate study of individual equipment effects, vortices interactions and formation, the effects of different velocities of fluid flow, the optimization of flow paths, remixing and flow regimes external of a system, slug creation, and other parameters known to those skilled in the art.
System for measuring fluid flow in a fluid passage of an HVAC system
Methods and systems to measure a volumetric fluid flow rate through a fluid flow passage, such as an air handler of a HVAC system, are described. The method may include obtaining a flow rate measurement in a measuring section, and calculating a total flow rate based on a correlation between the obtained flow rate measurement and the total flow rate. The method may also include blocking a portion of the fluid flow passage so that when a minimal volumetric fluid flow rate is provided, the flow rate measurement obtained in the measuring section is at about a minimal sensitivity flow rate requirement.
FLOW METER
A flow meter for determining the flow velocity of a fluid in a media line, having a sensor base having a bluff body and a sensor body, an electronics unit and a signal interface. The bluff body is arranged substantially upstream of the sensor body in the direction of flow. The sensor body has a carrier part and a substrate arrangement having at least one ceramic substrate, and an anemometer sensor unit and a vortex meter sensor unit are arranged on the substrate arrangement.
PRODUCTION OF HYDROCARBONS WITH METRIC COUNTER
An improved solution for estimating the flow rate of a fluid in a line of a hydrocarbon production installation, during production. Systems and methods for producing hydrocarbons on a line of a hydrocarbon production installation can include at least two devices adapted each for providing an estimate of the flow rate of a fluid in the line based on respective data. The devices include at least one metric counter, and the data relative to the provision of an estimate of the flow rate by the metric counter include a measurement done by at least one sensor of the metric counter on the fluid. Further, data can be determined relative to the provision of an estimate of the flow rate by the devices, and a DVR process involving the determined data, the reconciliation being conditioned by at least a substantial equality between the estimates of the flow rate of the fluid.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR METERING GAS
A system for metering gas includes a flow sensor and a controller. The flow sensor is disposed in a conduit in fluid connection with a flow of a gas through the conduit. The flow sensor includes a heater and a temperature sensing element, and generates an electrical output based on the flow of the gas. The controller controls operation of the heater and is operable in a pre-measurement mode and multiple measurement modes. The controller in the pre-measurement mode operates the heater at a pre-measurement setting. The controller in the measurement modes operates the heater at corresponding measurement settings that have increased power levels and/or increased operating durations relative to the pre-measurement setting. The controller in the measurement modes is configured to determine a flow rate of the gas based on an amplitude characteristic and/or a temporal characteristic of the electrical output of the flow sensor.
Differentiate user by their water behavior
A system is provided for differentiating between water usage of multiple water consumers using a common distributed water infrastructure. The system receives from a water sensor that is upstream of a plurality of appliances, signals indicative of water usage, and constructs from the signals a plurality of water event profile signatures. The system associates, based on differences between similar water event profiles, at least one water event profile signature with a first water consumer and associates a second water event profile signature with a second water consumer, and stores the water event profile signatures for the first water consumer and the second water consumer. The system constructs current water event profiles reflecting subsequent water usage in the distributed water infrastructure, and attributes a first current water event profile to the first water consumer and attributes a second current water event profile to the second water consumer.
