20170292798 · 2017-10-12 ·

A heat exchanger comprises an outer shell extending between axially opposed ends and having a first fluid inlet and a first fluid outlet, one or more tubes passing through the tubular shell, a collection vessel disposed in an upper surface of the outer shell or the first fluid outlet, and a level sensor configured to detect the presence of the second heat exchange fluid within the collection vessel. The first fluid inlet and the first fluid outlet provide a first fluid pathway for a first heat exchange fluid through the outer shell, and the one or more tubes are configured to provide a second fluid pathway for a second heat exchange fluid between a second fluid inlet and a second fluid outlet.

Fuel level sensor diagnosis device
09822723 · 2017-11-21 · ·

A fuel level sensor detects the level of fuel in a fuel tank. A level signal detected by a float does not change in a full dead zone and an empty dead zone. During normal fuel consumption, the level signal changes according to the consumption amount. Thus when an electronic control unit, or ECU, detects that the fuel level sensor is operating normally, the ECU resets a fuel consumption amount. However, when a small quantity of fuel is supplied, the fuel consumption amount is not reset, and a measurement error may occur during failure detection. Accordingly, the ECU corrects a failure threshold value to avoid misdiagnosing a failure.

Well water depth monitor

Methods, apparatuses, and computer readable medium including computer program products, are provided for determining the depth of water in a well. A method may include coupling a signal onto a cable connected to a submersible well pump. The method may further include monitoring the cable to determine a first time corresponding to a first reflection of the signal caused by the cable entering a water column between a water surface and the submersible pump. The method may further include monitoring the cable to determine a second time corresponding to a second reflection of the signal caused by an impedance mismatch between the cable surrounded by water and a motor in the submersible well pump. The method may further include determining a water height between the submersible pump and the water surface from the first time and the second time.
