Tank maintenance access chamber

A fuel storage system has a tank access chamber with improved monitoring, servicing and maintenance capabilities. In particular, the chamber includes a sump monitored by a liquid sensor whose proper function can be automatically checked remotely, e.g., via an electronic controller or remote manual operation. In cases where such a check indicates a need for physical inspection of the sump sensor, the present system provides for sensor removal and installation by service personnel from a location outside the tank access chamber. Thus, the present system facilitates regular inspection and routine or unplanned maintenance without the need for a person to physically enter the tank access chamber.

The measuring device includes: a detecting section including a coil which detects a change in a value of impedance caused by a change in a mold level; an amplifying section which amplifies an output of the detecting section; a pre-pouring calibration section which determines a reference value of a positive feedback ratio of the amplifying section in environmental conditions before pouring of molten metal; and a mold oscillation signal calibration section which obtains a standard value of difference in an output of the measuring device, the standard value of difference corresponding to a known value of amplitude of mold oscillation when the positive feedback ratio is the reference value, obtains a deviation of measurement based on a difference between the maximum value and the minimum value of the output in mold oscillation and the standard value, and corrects the positive feedback ratio within a predetermined range including the reference value.

DIAGNOSTIC SIGNAL TO ANNUNCIATE PRIMARY SEAL FAILURE IN A LEVEL TRANSMITTER

A method and system for seal failure annunciation comprises a process connector connected to a probe used to measure a product level in a tank. A pulse generation module generates a pulse that is propagated through a voided space in the process connector and a detector module configured to receive the echo curve from the interrogation pulse. A logic module is used to evaluate the received echo curve to determine if a seal in the process connector has failed. When the logic module indicates seal failure, an alarm module initiates an alarm indicating said seal in said process connector has failed.

A method for analyzing a level gauge, comprising storing in a storage device a consecutive sequence of data triplets including a time stamp, a filling level measurement, and an echo curve information, plotting a trend line including filling level as a function of time, graphically indicating a pointer in the trend line, displaying an echo curve corresponding to a point in time initially represented by the pointer, receiving user input indicating a set of points along a section of the trend line selected for analysis, and for each point in the set of points, moving the pointer to this point and replacing contents of the second graphical element, such that an echo curve displayed in the second graphical element always corresponds to a point in time represented by a current position of the pointer. The invention enables a user to analyze operation of the level gauge during a time period corresponding to the selected trend line section.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DETECTING WATER LEVEL OF WATER TRAP IN FUEL CELL

A device and a method for detecting a water level of a water trap in a fuel cell can accurately output a water level of water collected in the water trap by reaction of the fuel cell. The device and the method for detecting a water level of a water trap can detect a change in a surrounding temperature of a water level sensor by mounting a separate temperature sensor in the water level sensor and accurately output the water level in the water trap regardless of the change of the surrounding temperature through a water sensor output value correction algorithm based on a detected temperature.

System and method for testing beverage apparatus before shipment

A system and method for testing a beverage apparatus such as a beverage maker and/or dispenser before shipment. The beverage apparatus includes at least one component that can produce monitorable and/or measurable characteristic. The measurable characteristic may be compared against a threshold value and may include an acceptable tolerance range. In response to an out-of tolerance condition, a fail condition is displayed, otherwise a pass condition is displayed. Also disclosed is a system for storing the measurable characteristic so that the beverage apparatus can be analyzed by comparing its current state versus the baseline state measured before the beverage apparatus was shipped.

Capacitive liquid level sensor

A capacitive liquid level sensor is provided comprising a capacitive probe having a capacitance and comprising a sensing tip wherein the capacitive probe is configured such that the capacitance of the probe changes when the sensing tip is exposed to liquid. A signal generator operates to supply an electrical signal alternating between a high and low state to the capacitive probe, the electrical signal being configured such that the probe is alternately charged and discharged when the signal is high or low respectively. A comparator operates to detect the magnitude of an electrical signal across the capacitive probe and provides a first output signal value when the detected signal magnitude is greater than a predetermined threshold value and a second output signal value when the signal magnitude is less than the threshold value. A timer operates to receive an output signal from the comparator and measures a time period starting when the comparator output signal transitions to the first output signal value and ending when the comparator output signal transitions to the second output signal value. Liquid detection means also operate to utilize the time period measured by the timer to determine if the sensing tip is exposed to liquid.

Methods for calibrating a fugitive emission rate measurement
09759597 · 2017-09-12 · ·

Methods for calibrating an emission rate measurement of a gas are provided. The methods involve discharging a reference gas that is the same or a different composition than a subject gas. If the same or similar, then a combined emission rate of the reference and subject gas is measured, as well as an emission rate of the subject gas only. A deviation, or an one or more adjusted parameter, of the combined and subject gas measurement from the reference gas discharge rate is used to calibrate the subject gas measurement. If the reference gas is different, the emission rates of the subject and reference gas are measured, and a deviation, or an one or more adjusted parameter, of the measured rate from the discharge rate of the reference gas is used in calibrating the subject gas measurement. The methods may also use a modified 2-D tracer measurement as a reference.
