Remote weight measurement of a product support member

In some embodiments, systems, apparatuses and methods are provided herein useful to determine a weight of products on a product support structure. More specifically, the product support structure can be provided on a suspension system having one or more springs that can be monitored for compression to thereby determine a weight of products on the product support structure. In several embodiments, non-visible electromagnetic (EM) waves, can be directed at the spring and reflections of the non-visible EM waves can be received and analyzed to determine a compression of the spring.

Method for designing electromagnetic coils with explicit peripheral nerve stimulation constraint based on an oracle penalty

Systems and methods for designing and manufacturing electromagnetic coils for use with a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system are described. More particularly, described here are methods for designing and manufacturing gradient coils for producing magnetic field gradients with greater peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS) thresholds relative to conventional gradient coils. The gradient coil design is constrained using an oracle penalty that is computed to account for a PNS requirement for the coil. In other applications, the oracle penalty can be used to optimize driving patterns for an electromagnetic stimulation system, such that a target PNS requirement is achieved.

Atomic sensor system

One example includes an atomic sensor system. The system includes an optical source configured to provide an optical beam and a plurality of sensor cell systems. Each of the sensor cell systems includes sensing media enclosed in a volume therein. The system also includes optics configured to provide the optical beam to each of the sensor cell systems to provide interaction of the optical beam with the vapor in each of the respective sensor cell systems. The optical beam exiting each of the sensor cell systems is a respective detection beam. The system further includes a detection system comprising at least one configured to receive the detection beam from each of the sensor cell systems and to determine a measurable parameter based on an optical characteristic associated with the detection beam from each of the sensor cell systems.

Magnetic resonance imaging apparatus and magnetic resonance imaging method

In one embodiment, an MRI apparatus (10) includes a gap calculating unit (65), a candidate calculating unit (66) and a sequence setting unit (61). The gap calculating unit calculates a gap between the center frequency of an RF pulse and a resonance center frequency, after start of a pulse sequence. The candidate calculating unit calculates a plurality of candidate timings so as to avoid influence of a CF scan for measuring the resonance center frequency on MR signals, when the CF scan is inserted in the pulse sequence. The sequence setting unit sets the pulse sequence so that CF scans are inserted in the pulse sequence at the timings according to the gap and the candidate timings. Each time the CF scan is executed, the center frequency of an RF pulse is updated and the pulse sequence is continued. Thereby, the MR signals are acquired.

Installation method for real-time fruit, vegetable, and nuts monitoring

Real time plant product monitoring is important for growers in evaluating the current crop weights and irrigation planning. Plant products respond to the amount of water, heat, or soil conditions can impact the plants products weights. As the user monitors the data, they can determine potential issues with their crop in real-time and develop a plan to respond to issues.
