Systems and methods for monitoring pressure transients and pipe bursts in a pipeline network are provided. The system can include a pressure sensor for measuring pressure in a pipe and generating a pressure signal, and a hydrophone for detecting a change of the pressure and generating a hydrophone signal. The system can include a high pass filter that can filter a portion of the hydrophone signal corresponding to a particular frequency. The system can include a comparator that generates an interrupt signal when the hydrophone signal satisfies a threshold value. The system can include a microcontroller which stays in a sleep mode until receiving the interrupt signal. The microcontroller can switch on the pressure sensor to record the pressure signal generated by the pressure sensor after being woken up.

An assembly (10) to engage seemingly closed bags (11) that contain a product. The assembly (10) includes a conveyor (14) that has a length (16) that is moved in a conveying direction (17). A compression device (24) is adjustable in respective distance from the length (17) by a “parallelogram” arrangement. The compression device (24) engages the bags (11) and compresses the bag (11) against the length (12), with sensors (33 and 34) providing a signal indicative of the depth of the bags (11), and therefore a signal indicative of bags (11).

Method for protecting a server from damage by a liquid leak from a liquid-cooling unit

A method for protecting a server from damage by a liquid leak from a liquid-cooling unit of the server is provided. The server further includes a liquid leak sensor unit, a programmable logic circuit, and a power supply unit that supplies main power and standby power for the server. When a liquid leak is detected, the liquid leak sensor unit generates a main-power-off signal to the programmable logic circuit that causes the power supply unit to stop outputting the main power accordingly. The liquid leak sensor unit sends a total-power-off signal to the power supply unit to stop supply of the standby power after the power supply unit has stopped outputting the main power.

Duct leakage detection system and method

Systems and methodologies are disclosed to detect a leak in a duct system or other closed loop systems. The system and methodologies use a light source to detect a leak in a duct system, e.g., the ductwork of a HVAC/R system.

Thermal dispersion flow meter with fluid leak detection and freeze burst prevention

A non-invasive thermal dispersion flow meter with chronometric monitor for fluid leak detection includes a heater, an ambient temperature sensor and a flow rate sensor which are configured to sense the temperature of a fluid in a conduit, and then monitor the flow of that fluid through the conduit. Based upon the ambient temperature sensor readings, the flow rate sensor and heater may be adjusted to optimize the operation of the system to detect leaks. Based on the sensor readings, the flow may be adjusted to prevent damage and leaks by relieving the system of excess pressure. Geographic location, occupancy sensors and occupant identifiers are used to control the system to facilitate operation and minimize leak damage when occupants are away.

Smart pressure relief valve

A method for identifying the potential location of a leak in a water heating system to one of a hot side and a cold side of the water heating system, the hot side of the water heating system receives incoming water at an inlet, the hot side of the water heating system including a bypass line connected in parallel to at least one heater line, a pressure sensor disposed on an exit of the hot side of the water heating system, the cold side of the water heating system receives incoming water at the inlet, a master valve disposed on an upstream location of the inlet, a first valve disposed on the bypass line and a second valve disposed on the at least one heater line, the method includes closing the master valve; opening the master valve; and closing the first valve and the second valve.

Methods and systems for determining integrity of fuel tank pressure transducer

Methods and systems are provided for diagnosing potential degradation of a fuel tank pressure sensor. In one example, a method may include, in response to an ambient pressure reading by the fuel tank pressure sensor during an evaporative emissions (EVAP) system diagnostic, applying vacuum to the EVAP system and indicating degradation of the fuel tank pressure sensor if the canister undergoes an endothermic reaction. If the fuel tank pressure sensor is determined to not be degraded, the method further includes distinguishing between the ambient pressure reading being caused by a leak in the EVAP system and a canister purge valve being stuck closed.
