In one aspect, an apparatus is provided for a conveyor belt system. The apparatus includes a conveyor belt cleaner having an elongate support and a pair of mounts configured to position the elongate support to extend across a conveyor belt. The apparatus includes a cleaner blade configured to be operatively mounted to the elongate support and engage a conveyor belt. The apparatus further includes a sensor configured to detect at least one characteristic of the elongate support as the elongate support vibrates during conveyor belt operation. A processor of the apparatus is configured to use the at least one characteristic of the elongate support to predict at least one property of the cleaner blade.

An example method may include determining a rotational speed of a rotating machine; determining, using a frequency domain transform of a signal, a frequency domain signal; determining, based on the rotational speed, a first frequency band within the frequency domain signal for identifying a fault frequency; determining a fault frequency within the first frequency band; determining, based on the fault frequency, a second frequency band within the first frequency band, wherein the second frequency band includes the fault frequency; determining, based on the second frequency band, a first fault index and a baseline of the first fault index; determining, based on a deviation of a second fault index from the baseline, a fault condition; and providing an alert based on the fault condition.

The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for improved anomaly detection for rotating machines. An example method may include determining a rotational speed of a rotating machine; determining, using a frequency domain transform of a signal, a frequency domain signal; determining, based on the rotational speed, a first frequency band within the frequency domain signal for identifying a fault frequency; determining a fault frequency within the first frequency band; determining, based on the fault frequency, a second frequency band within the first frequency band, wherein the second frequency band includes the fault frequency; determining, based on the second frequency band, a first fault index and a baseline of the first fault index; determining, based on a deviation of a second fault index from the baseline, a fault condition; and providing an alert based on the fault condition.

The present disclosure relates to the automatic generation of characterized image data. For this purpose, a visual representation of a component is computed on the basis of existent structure data for the component, wherein the surface properties of the visual representation of the component may be varied based on predefined characteristic properties. Because, in the computation of such visual representations, both the component itself and the underlying characteristic surface properties are known, this information may be used for characterizing the corresponding parts in the visual representation in order to achieve automatic characterization of the computed visual representation.

Systems and methods for in-situ monitoring of gearbox

Systems and methods for in-situ monitoring of gearbox are provided. An example system includes a mounting plate coupled to a component within the gearbox and a transducer array having a plurality of piezoelectric transducers disposed thereon to ultrasonically obtain diagnostic information about one or more components in the gearbox. The plurality of piezoelectric transducers are in contact with a surface of one or more mechanical components within the gearbox. The system includes circuitry, at least a portion of which is mounted inside the gearbox, electrically couplable to the transducer array, the circuitry configured to direct an excitation signal to a selected piezoelectric transducer of the plurality of piezoelectric transducers, and direct a response received from one or more of the plurality of piezoelectric transducers in proximity to the selected piezoelectric transducer toward a processor programmed or configured to determine gearbox diagnostic information therefrom.

A high-temperature biaxial strength tester for a CMC turbine vane includes a test stand, a thermal insulation box, a vane fixture, a biaxial loading device, thermocouples, a multi-channel thermometer, quartz lamps, a digital image correlation (DIC) system, and a cooling circulation system. The biaxial loading device includes two loading mechanisms arranged at 90° to each other. Each of the two loading mechanisms includes an electric cylinder and a ceramic push rod. One end of the ceramic push rod is connected to the electric cylinder, and the other end of the ceramic push rod extends into the thermal insulation box to contact an outer platform of the CMC turbine vane. The electric cylinder is provided with a load-displacement sensor. The thermocouples are arranged on the thermal insulation box. The quartz lamps are arranged inside the thermal insulation box. The multi-channel thermometer is connected to the thermocouples.
