Total pressure and total temperature measurement in wet gas condition
A probe for the measurement of the total pressure or temperature of a two phase wet gas flow is also disclosed. Embodiments provide a stem, a tip on the top of the stem, a cup serving as a shield is formed in the tip, a at least one tube or thermal element positioned within the cup serving as a measuring device for the incoming wet gas flow; at least one hole which passes through at least one wall of the cup; and a pressure changing device configured to accelerate the wet gas flowing around the cup. A method and system for the measurement of the total pressure or temperature of a two phase wet gas flow is also disclosed.
Hydrogen detecting sensor
Disclosed herein is a hydrogen detecting sensor that includes a sulfide-metal catalyst, such that hydrogen gas can be detected visibly with naked eyes. Particularly, the hydrogen detecting sensor includes a substrate, a sulfide layer formed on the substrate and chemically discolored when exposed to hydrogen, and a metal catalytic layer formed on the sulfide layer.
Particulate matter sensor diagnostic system and method
A diagnostic module for diagnosing a particulate matter sensor in a vehicle includes a sensor mode selection module, a heater power detector, and a protection tube diagnostic module. The sensor mode selection module selects a regeneration mode for the particulate matter sensor from among a plurality of operation modes. The regeneration mode regenerates the particulate matter sensor. The heater power detector determines a voltage output based on a voltage applied to the particulate matter sensor. The voltage output corresponds to operation of the particulate matter sensor in the selected mode. The protection tube diagnostic module performs a diagnostic of the particulate matter sensor. The protection tube diagnostic module selectively diagnoses a fault in the particulate matter sensor based on the voltage output determined during the regeneration mode and a regeneration power threshold.
Electrode for gas sensor, and gas sensor
Provided are: an electrode for a gas sensor formed as a porous electrode so as to stably allow reduction in electrode resistance for excellent low-temperature activity; and a gas sensor. The electrode (108, 110) for the gas sensor is adapted for use on a surface of a solid electrolyte body (109), which is predominantly formed of zirconia, and contains particles (2) of a noble metal or an alloy thereof, first ceramic particles (4) of stabilized zirconia or partially stabilized zirconia and second ceramic particles (6) of one or more selected from the group consisting of Al.sub.2O.sub.3, MgO, La.sub.2O.sub.3, spinel, zircon, mullite and cordierite, wherein the second ceramic particles are contained in an amount smaller than that of the first ceramic particles.
LIQUID ANALYSER
A liquid analyzer comprises a liquid sample intake for immersion in a liquid sample; at least one measurement zone; and a first pump module operable to effect liquid flow from sample intake towards the at least one measurement zone. A first pressure monitor is provided to measure pressure between the sample intake and the at least one measurement zone and the operation of the first pump module to regulate the liquid flow in the liquid conduits is regulated in dependence thereon.
Application of the apparent volume of distribution in extraction technologies and pharmacokinetics
The present invention relates to the discovery of the apparent volume of distribution as an intensive physical property of matter and its use in the field of chemical separation sciences and pharmacokinetics. The invention provides various methods of determining the amount of substance in all phases, substance concentration in all phases, extraction efficiency, solvent capacity, phase volume needed to achieve a given extraction efficiency, the substance's apparent volumes of distribution with respect to each phase in the system and the partition coefficient or distribution ratio that defines the partitioning of the substance between two phases that are in contact. In the field of pharmacokinetic multiphasic compartment models the invention provides methods to determine the substance amount in the body from measured plasma substance concentration at all times in the one-compartment model and at times of momentary distribution equilibrium of the substance (t.sub.eq) in multi-compartment models.
Polymer nanofiber based reversible nano-switch/sensor diode (nanoSSSD) device
A nanostructure device is provided and performs dual functions as a nano-switching/sensing device. The nanostructure device includes a doped semiconducting substrate, an insulating layer disposed on the doped semiconducting substrate, an electrode formed on the insulating layer, and at least one polymer nanofiber deposited on the electrode. The at least one polymer nanofiber provides an electrical connection between the electrode and the substrate and is the electroactive element in the device.
FLUID PRESSURIZATION AND DISPENSING SYSTEM
A fluid pressurization and dispensing system, including a coupler releasably attached to a vessel via an attachment means for securing a vacuum seal between the coupler and the vessel for maintaining pressure within the vessel, refreshing the gas composition within the vessel, and dispensing of a fluid contents externally from within the vessel without disturbing the vacuum seal. The coupler has a rigid single body unit having a tap head, a shank, and a cap which are contiguous thereof the coupler including a plurality of channels each integrally machined within an interior portion of the coupler. The system regulates a flow of gas from a pressurized gas cartridge via a gas pressure regulator, enables venting excess gas via a gas pressure relief valve, enables measurement of gas pressure within the vessel via a gas pressure gauge. Another embodiment of the system includes a coupler including a bi-level tap head.

Gas sensor
A protector includes an inside protector having an inside peripheral wall and a front end wall in a front end side thereof and a tubular outside protector which surrounds the inside protector. In an outside peripheral wall of the outside protector, a plurality of outside introducing ports through which an external part of the outside protector communicates with a gas separating chamber are formed at equal intervals along a circumferential direction. The outside introducing ports are formed at positions nearer to the front end side than positions where inside introducing ports of the inside protector are formed. The outside introducing ports extend in the circumferential direction of the outside peripheral wall and formed in shapes of lateral holes in which opening lengths in the circumferential direction are larger than opening lengths in the direction perpendicular to the circumferential direction.
