Devices for trapping and controlling microparticles with radiation
A particle manipulation device includes a substrate and a microchannel included in the substrate and configured to receive a fluid including particles therein. A biasing structure is formed on the substrate adjacent to, but outside the microchannel. The biasing structure is configured to dispense radiation at a frequency to bias movement of the particles within the microchannel from outside the microchannel.
System, method, and apparatus to perform a surface inspection using real-time position information
A system includes an inspection robot for performing an inspection on an inspection surface with an inspection robot, the apparatus comprising a position definition circuit structured to determine an inspection robot position on the inspection surface; a data positioning circuit structured to interpret inspection data, and to correlate the inspection data to the inspection robot position on the inspection surface; and wherein the data positioning circuit is further structured to determine position informed inspection data in response to the correlating of the inspection data with the inspection robot position, wherein the position informed inspection data comprises absolute position data.

COFFEE ROASTING APPARATUS, COFFEE BREWING APPARATUS AND COFFEE ROASTING METHOD
A coffee roasting apparatus (100) is disclosed comprising a compartment (110) for holding coffee beans (10); a roasting element (140) for roasting the coffee beans in said compartment; and a controller (130) for controlling the roasting element. The controller is adapted to control the roasting element as a function of a change in the volume of the coffee beans residing in the compartment. A coffee brewing apparatus including such a coffee roasting apparatus and a coffee roasting method are also disclosed.
Method of and system for automatically adjusting airflow and sensors for use therewith
A method of and system for automatically adjusting airflow and sensors for use therewith are disclosed. A sensor assembly includes a first face on an opposite side of the sensor assembly relative to a second face. The assembly includes an electrical plug on the first face and an electrical outlet on the second face. The electrical outlet is of a same type that is complimentary to the electrical plug on the first face. The assembly includes a sensor for sensing a value of an environmental variable in a space and a sensor communication system for transmitting and receiving information. A sensor system includes a plurality of sensor assemblies disposed in a building. Each sensor assembly includes a sensor for sensing a value of an environmental variable of the space within which the sensor is placed. The system determines gradient values for the sensed environmental variable.
Device and method for detecting deposits
The present invention relates to a method and device for detecting and analyzing deposits in liquid-bearing systems. More particularly, the device relates to being able to detect and analyze deposits in a liquid-bearing systems such as industrial plants that use and store fluids. The method relates to being able to determine a distribution of the run time of a detected ultrasonic reflection signal and analyzing the distribution to determine if deposits are deposited onto a heated reflecting area.

Shaker systems with class D power amplifiers and methods
A shaker test system with a class D power amplifier having an analog to digital converter to receive an analog input signal and convert the analog input signal to a digital signal, pulse width modulation logic coupled to the analog to digital converter to provide a delay time to a delay line to control a transition time of a pulse width modulated signal responsive to an output of the analog to digital converter, and a class D power output stage coupled to the delay line and responsive to the pulse width modulated signal to provide an output of the class D power amplifier stage. The class D amplifier allows use of a low cost microcontroller to obtain very small pulse width increments using a low cost microcontroller to provide a low cost shaker test system incorporating the class D power amplifier.
