This invention discloses bi-functional photoactivable fluorescent lipid probes for proximity labelling-based identification of membrane-associated proteins, and synthesis thereof. The photoactivable fluorescent lipid probe include a lipid moiety, a fluorophore, and a photoactivable moiety; where the fluorophore and the photoactivable moiety are covalently attached to the lipid moiety.

METHODS FOR PREDICTION AND EARLY DETECTION OF DIABETES

The present disclosure is related to the field of diabetes diagnostics. It introduces novel biomarkers that can be used to predict diabetes and detect presence of the disease. In addition, novel fatty acid biomarkers are presented.

PRENYLATION ASSAY

A method for determining the activity of Rab escort protein 1 (REP1) comprising the steps: (a) providing a sample comprising REP1; (b) contacting the sample of step (a) with Rab6a, Rab geranylgeranyltransferase (Rab GGTase) and a lipid donor substrate; and (c) detecting the lipidated Rab6a product.

PD Marker of Hepatocyte Growth Factor (HGF)

The present invention provides a method for evaluating the pharmacological action of HGF that utilizes a PD marker in which fluctuation is recognized by administration of hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) in a broader range of subjects. A method for evaluating the pharmacodynamic action of HGF is provided. The aforementioned evaluation method is characterized in that it comprises a step of measuring the ApoA4 level in a biological sample collected from a test subject who was administered HGF. According to the present invention, a kit for evaluating the pharmacodynamic action of HGF comprising an anti-ApoA4 antibody is further provided.
