INERTIA DETECTION DEVICE
20220381562 · 2022-12-01 ·

An inertia detection device includes one set of gyro sensors for detecting an angular velocity of a detection target object along a same direction, the gyro sensors arranged in a same physical quantity range, in which sensor movement is detectable as a same physical quantity. When an abnormality affecting an output signal of one of the gyro sensors is caused, based on an observation that a difference of magnitudes of the output signals from normal and abnormal gyro sensors is different from a difference of magnitudes of the output signals from two normal gyro sensors, such an abnormality of one of the gyro sensors is determinable by a comparison between the output signals, without using an estimated value thereof.

SAFETY MECHANISM FOR SENSORS
20220373574 · 2022-11-24 ·

The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for detecting a failure of a sensor device during operation of the sensor device. A test signal is generated in a first frequency band that is above a signal frequency band of the sensor device and fed into a sensor element of the sensor device. A set of samples is obtained, and a magnitude value is derived from said at least two consecutive samples at the first frequency band. The magnitude value is compared to a magnitude threshold value that defines a minimum for the magnitude value and if the magnitude value is below the magnitude threshold value, it is determined that an error has occurred in the sensor device.

Method for calibrating a magnetometer

A method for calibrating a magnetometer. The magnetometer travels through (Si) a set of path positions, and acquires (S2) a plurality of measurements of the magnetic field. Trajectory information (S3) is provided representative of the location and the orientation of a point integral with the magnetometer. The measurements of the magnetic field are matched up (S4) with the trajectory information. A determination (S5) is made of calibration parameters of the magnetometer by the minimisation of a cost function involving, for a plurality of determination times, at least the calibration parameters, a measurement of the magnetic field, and a relationship linking the change in a magnetic field with the change in the location and in the orientation of the magnetometer derived from the trajectory information.

COMPENSATING THE TEMPERATURE DRIFT OF AN ACCELEROMETER ON BOARD A TWO-WHEELED MOTOR VEHICLE FOR MEASURING VEHICLE TILT
20230054694 · 2023-02-23 ·

A method for compensating for a temperature drift of an accelerometer for measuring the lateral tilt of a motorbike. When the vehicle is in the “bike upright” condition, and the temperature of the accelerometer is at least 30° C. above its reference temperature, a reading is taken of the acceleration values. These values are then processed in order to identify the coefficient of the slope of the straight line for correcting the offset of each axis of the accelerometer. A processing operation involves verifying the strict monotony of the coefficients in at least two successive readings and ensuring that the mean value thereof is included between determined limits. The mean coefficient that is finally obtained then can be used to correct the temperature of accelerations read over the entire operating range of the accelerometer. Thus, the computation of the tilt angle of the motorbike is more precise.

OBJECT ORIENTATION INDICATOR
20220366601 · 2022-11-17 ·

An object orientation indicator for indicating the orientation of an object, such as the vertical positioning of an object to be inserted or being inserted into a surface. The object orientation indicator is configured to determine or indicate when an object being inserted into a surface parallel or non-parallel to the ground is vertically level, i.e. perpendicular to the ground. The object orientation indicator may also be configured to determine or indicate if a preexisting vertical object inserted into a surface parallel or non-parallel to the ground remains in its originally inserted orientation. The object orientation indicator may include a housing assembly and a display panel.

WIND SPEED DETECTION SYSTEM AND WIND SPEED DETECTION METHOD

A wind speed detection system and a wind speed detection method are provided. The wind speed detection system includes a pipe body, a pressure sensing module, a suction pump, and a controller. The pressure sensing module is connected to a first opening through a first pipe and connected to a second opening through a second pipe. The first pipe has a main pipe. Two ends of a first alternative pipe are connected to two ends of the main pipe. When the controller performs a self-checking operation, the main pipe is closed and the first alternative pipe is opened. The controller starts the suction pump to perform forward suction. The controller measures a first air pressure through the first pipe and measures a second air pressure through the second pipe by the pressure sensing module. The controller calculates a reference wind speed value according to the first and second air pressures.
