FOOD PREPARATION IMPLEMENT
A food preparation implement usable by an intended user for pressing and crushing foodstuff, the intended user having a hand, the food preparation implement comprising: a first jaw and a second jaw, the first and second jaws being pivotally attached to each other at a pivot location so as to be movable between an open configuration and a closed configuration; the first jaw including a pressing compartment, the pressing compartment being defined by a pressing wall and a peripheral wall extending therefrom, the pressing wall defining a pressing aperture extending therethrough, the second jaw including a plunger, the plunger being insertable into the pressing compartment when the first and second jaws are in the closed configuration; the first and second jaws also including respectively a first and a second jaw crushing wall, the first and second jaw crushing walls being located substantially opposed to each other and substantially adjacent to each other when the first and second jaws are in the closed configuration.
HIGH PERFORMANCE ADJUSTABLE JUICER WITH WHOLE FOODS FEED CHUTE
A juicing system with a drive mechanism and a juicer assembly, where the juicer assembly includes a main housing defining a cavity. A lid encloses a top portion of the cavity and has an opening therethrough. An auger is disposed within the cavity and has a top portion and a bottom portion. The auger is operably connected at one of the top portion or the bottom portion to the drive mechanism to rotate the auger. A rotatable cutting blade is disposed at the top portion of the auger. The rotatable cutting blade cuts foods inserted into the cavity through the opening. A juicing basket is disposed within the cavity, radially outwardly from the auger. The juicing basket has at least one screen with apertures therethrough of varying sizes. Food is pressed by the auger against the juicing basket to squeeze juice and pulp through the apertures.
SWEEPER AND FILTER ASSEMBLY FOR BEVERAGE PREPARATION MACHINES
Sweeper and filter assembly for beverage preparation machines comprising a sweeper associated with a filter, the sweeper comprising a carrier band mounted on at least two shafts. The carrier band can perform the filtering function itself as it is made from a filtering material or is provided with suitable orifices. The carrier band is flexible and preferably elastic. The shafts on which the band is mounted are supported by a casing, where at least one of said shafts engages a drive element comprising a motor and an electronic device for managing the motor. At least one scraper is provided joined to the casing in order to clean the carrier band. The motor of the drive element is independent from the motor of the juicing machine, the device having sweeping and filtering cycles independent of the juicing cycles of the main machine.
DEVICE FOR SEPARATING SOLID FOOD FROM LIQUID
A kitchen utensil or device, specifically a strainer, is constructed and adapted to attach removably to the side of a pan, pot, or bowl, to provide a convenient means to allow for the separation of solid food product from liquid. The strainer includes a generally planar top surface, having a plurality of small gauge holes, slits, or openings in its surface. The holes are effective to allow a liquid to pass through the surface of the utensil while retaining the solid food product. The device is attachable by a clip to the rim of an existing pan, pot, or bowl.

PATHOLOGIC STAGING COMPRESSION APPARATUS AND METHODS
A filtration assembly for separating solids from liquids contained in a sample, and a method for preparing such a sample are disclosed herein. According to one embodiment, the filtration assembly includes an inner element (100) with proximal and distal ends (102,103) and a sample (200) disposed therein. A reinforcing sleeve (300) is disposed around the inner element (100) to form a sample receiver (250) with proximal and distal ends (252,253). A filter (400) is disposed at the open proximal end of the sample receiver (252) and a filtrate receiver (500) is placed over the filter (400) and threadedly engaged with the sample receiver (250) to clamp the filter (400) therebetween. Then, the receivers (250,500) are inverted and a pressure is applied to the sample (200) to force a liquid component (200a) through the filter (400) into the filtrate receiver (500), while solids (200b) are retained in the sample receiver (250).
