An earth leakage detecting device comprises following elements. A first end of coupling capacitor is connected to a current path of power storage connected to load in a state of being insulated from a ground. Voltage output unit generates a periodic voltage that changes periodically, and applies the periodic voltage to a second end of coupling capacitor via impedance element. Voltage measurer measures a voltage at a connection point between coupling capacitor and impedance element. Earth leakage determiner determines presence or absence of an earth leakage between the current path of power storage and the ground on the basis of the measured voltage. Voltage output unit has a preparation period for constantly outputting a potential between a high-side potential and a low-side potential of the periodic voltage before a measurement period for outputting the periodic voltage.

A method and a measuring device for detecting a leakage current in an ungrounded, single-phase alternating-current power supply system. A variable test resistance is switched between one of the outer conductors and ground and starting from a minimally admissible test-resistance value, at least one of three support test-resistance values is determined as support locations. In an equivalent circuit of the modeled alternating-current power supply system, an equations system is set up for describing the dependency of currents and voltages. An extrapolation on the test-resistance value zero leads to a calculated test current which corresponds to the leakage current to be detected. Consequently, a ground fault situation may be simulated without actually causing a dangerous ground fault.

A reduced pin count (RPC) device includes an electrical circuitry in a package with uniformly distributed leads, a subset of the leads being electrically disconnected form the circuitry. A contactor pin block with sockets corresponding to the uniformly distributed leads has the sockets corresponding to the leads with electrical connections filled with test pins suitable for contacting respective leads, and the sockets corresponding to the electrically disconnected leads voided of test pins. Dummy plugs are inserted into the voided sockets to block the sockets and prevent accidental insertions of test pins.

In addition to modeling, actual batteries are tested for the same power inputs for validating performance differences. This framework identifies performance limiting components for determination of the vehicle system component optimization.

Arc fault detection modules for vehicles intended to supervise circuits and detect arc fault conditions in both alternating current and direct current circuits. A number of these arc fault detection modules may be integrated into a vehicle's electrical system in strategic locations. Each arc fault module contains sensing capabilities for monitoring the circuit, and may also include signal conditioning capabilities, processing capabilities for determining the occurrence of an arc fault, contactors for disabling the supervised circuit, and communications capabilities to interact with other vehicle components and telematics systems.
