Presented are methods and systems for regularizing content of multi-component seismic data. The method includes a step of receiving the seismic data, wherein the seismic data includes pressure and particle motion measurements and a step of regularizing and frequency optimizing the seismic data to desired positions based on Fresnel zones selected at various depths in a subsurface to obtain a regularized seismic dataset.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REAL-TIME GUNSHOT DETECTION AND REPORTING

Real-time gunshot detection and reporting. A computing device detects, in an audio signal received by an audio receiver that includes a plurality of audio receiving elements, at least one gunshot. The computing device determines, based on the plurality of audio receiving elements, an audio location of the at least one gunshot. The computing device sends control signals to at least two cameras to cause the at least two cameras to capture at least two corresponding images of the audio location. The computing device, based on the at least two corresponding images, identifies a gunshot location and transmits a gunshot location identifier that identifies the gunshot location to a destination.

Selection of receiver line orientation for seismic data acquisition array

Methods for selecting a receiver line orientation for a seismic data acquisition array and methods for performing a seismic survey using the selected receiver line orientation are provided herein. A method of selecting a 3D seismic data acquisition array comprising: selecting a survey area, determining the location of a plurality of source lines in the survey area, pre-planning a plurality of receiver line grids with differing orientations, assigning a cell grid to each receiver line grid, generating a fold level for each cell in each receiver line grid, determining a fold variation for each receiver line grid, and selecting a receiver line grid from the plurality of receiver line grids with the lowest fold variation.

A long offset land seismic survey spread includes a plurality of sensors within an area thereby defining a sensor receiver patch, a plurality of long offset sensor receivers outside of the receiver patch thereby surrounding the receiver patch and defining a sensor long offset area that is fee from sensor receivers that also defines a distance separating an external border of the sensor receiver patch and the long offset sensor receivers being a minimum offset distance that is a long offset distance.

Apparatus and method for seismic data acquisition with simultaneous activation of clustered vibrators

Methods for seismic exploration of a subsurface formation increase productivity by simultaneously actuating closely located vibratory sources. Individual vibrations generated by different sources actuated simultaneously are encoded to enable separation of seismic data corresponding to each of the individual vibrations.

LWD resistivity imaging tool with adjustable sensor pads

A logging while drilling tool for measuring a geological formation surrounding a wellbore includes a tool body having one or more sensor pads. Each sensor pad is coupled to the tool body by an extendable coupling that is operable to adjust the radial position of the sensor pad by extending away from or retracting toward the tool body. One or more sensors are mounted to each sensor pads and the sensors are operable to obtain a measurement a property of the formation. The tool also includes a downhole control unit having a transmitter and receiver. The downhole control unit is operable to receive the measurement and transmit the measurement to a surface controller, wherein the transmitted measurement indicates a measurement resolution.

Building integrity assessment system

A building integrity assessment system includes: an earthquake detector including: a building bottom sensor at a bottom of a building and that detects acceleration and an earthquake early-warning receiver that receives an earthquake early warning; a cloud computer; and sensors disposed at a plurality of positions in the building and that measures an influence of an earthquake on the building at each of the positions and wirelessly transmits measurement results to the cloud computer. The cloud computer estimates and evaluates the integrity of the building based on the measurement results. In response to the building bottom sensor detecting preliminary tremors or the earthquake early-warning receiver receiving the earthquake early warning, the plurality of sensors measures the influence of the earthquake on the building from a time before a major motion arrives at the building to a time after the arrival.

S-wave anisotropy estimate by automated image registration

The present disclosure provides a system and method for estimating fracture density within a subsurface formation from S-wave seismic data. In one embodiment, the S-wave seismic data is separated into fast (“S.sub.1”) and slow (“S.sub.2”) data. A computer is used to compute local similarity of the S.sub.1 and S.sub.2 data and to compute a cumulative time-difference by which the S.sub.2 data lags the S.sub.1 data from the local similarity. Based on the computed cumulative time-difference, the fracture density of a subsurface formation is estimated.

A system and method for detecting marine mammals and mitigating sound effects on them. The mammal detecting and mitigating system includes a first mammal monitoring system and a second mammal monitoring system. The first and second mammal monitoring systems are configured to be deployed away from each other, and the first and second monitoring systems communicate to each other such that the first mammal monitoring system is informed about a presence of a marine mammal detected by the second mammal monitoring system.

Method to estimate cement acoustic wave speeds from data acquired by a cased hole ultrasonic cement evaluation tool

Embodiments of the disclosure may include systems and methods for estimating an acoustic property of an annulus in a cement evaluation system. In one embodiment, a casing arrival signal is acquired at acoustic receivers a cement evaluation tool. A spectral amplitude ratio is calculated based on the casing arrival signal. The spectral amplitude ratio is scanned to detect and identify discontinuities. If discontinuities are detected, the frequency at the discontinuity may be used to estimate a wavespeed of the annulus. If discontinuities are not detected, attenuation dispersions are calculated and estimated, and an estimated wavespeed and parameters are updated until the calculated and estimated attenuation dispersions match.
