Method for seismic data acquisition and processing
Methods for separating the unknown contributions of two or more sources from a commonly acquired set of wavefield signals based on varying parameters at the firing time, location and/or depth of the individual sources in a lateral 2D plane.
Power control device, electrical apparatus, and image forming device
A power control device includes non-volatile memory, a controller, and a logic circuit. The non-volatile memory includes a function of externally outputting a logical state of a bit stored in a specific area as a state hold signal that indicates an ON/OFF state of a device function unit before a power cutoff. The controller controls the ON/OFF state of the device function unit and also writes the ON/OFF state of the device function unit to the specific area of the non-volatile memory. The logic circuit controls power supply to the controller on the basis of a logic level of the state hold signal from the non-volatile memory.
Earthquake sensing module and earthquake sensing system
An earthquake sensing module includes an acceleration sensor configured to detect accelerations on a plurality of detection axes, a module control unit configured to control the acceleration sensor, and a module storage unit configured to store state information of the acceleration sensor.
Repeatability indicator based on shot illumination for seismic acquisition
Methods and systems for similarity indicator calculation associated with seismic data acquisition are described. A similarity indicator value can, for example, be based on a normalized partitioned intensity uniformity (PIU) metric. In another aspect, shot imprints are compared by mapping a base (reference) shot imprint onto a current sample of a shot imprint before calculating the similarity indicator value. The similarity indicator value is associated with the shot imprint location used in the calculation and allows re-shooting of only the areas where an insufficient quality of shot data is detected based on a preconfigured threshold value for the similarity indicator.
Object, such as a building, provided with a system for preventing damage from earthquakes to the object
An object, such as a building, provided with a system for preventing damage from earthquakes to the object, said system comprising: a foundation anchored to the ground; guide means mounted on said foundation and on said object arranged to allow relative displacement between the object and the foundation in at least one horizontal direction; at least one actuator arranged to displace said object in said at least one direction relative to said foundation; said at least one actuator being connected to a central processing unit;
said central processing unit being connected to at least one displacement sensor;
said at least one displacement sensor being arranged to detect in real time displacement of said foundation and/or the ground and/or said object and to input in real time data about said displacement to said central processing unit; and
said processing unit being programmed to activate in real time said actuator in dependence on said data in such a manner that said object is displaced relative to said foundation in real time, such that the maximum displacement vector of the object relative to the earth's gravitational field is kept substantially smaller than the maximum displacement vector of said foundation relative to the earth's gravitational field.
Confidence-based application-specific user interactions
This application is directed to a method for controlling user experience (UX) operations on an electronic device that executes an application. A touchless UX operation associated with the application has an initiation condition including at least detection of a presence and a gesture in a required proximity range with a required confidence level. The electronic device then determines from a first sensor signal the proximity of the presence with respect to the electronic device. In accordance with a determination that the determined proximity is in the required proximity range, the electronic device determines from a second sensor signal a gesture associated with the proximity of the presence and an associated confidence level of the determination of the gesture. In accordance with a determination that the determined gesture and associated confidence level satisfy the initiation condition, the electronic device initializes the touchless UX operation associated with the application.
Optical monitoring system
An optical monitoring system comprising first and second sensor arrays interrogated via first and second optical connections from an interrogator location. The system is configured such that no wavelength is carried bi-directionally in the first and second optical connections. In typical systems the optical connections comprise trunk cables from the sensor arrays to the interrogator location.
Subaqueous underground survey system and subaqueous underground survey method
A subaqueous underground survey system using a reflection seismic survey method includes: multiple sound sources 1 for generating sound waves in the water; a controller 2 for controlling phases of the sound waves; a geophone 3 for receiving reflected waves of the sound waves; and an observation ship 4 equipped with the sound sources 1, wherein the controller 2 controls phases of the sound sources 1 so that the sound waves generated from the respective sound sources 1 have a phase difference at a water bottom surface B, thereby controlling generation of shear waves to propagate into the ground.
WIRELESS, BATTERY-POWERED SENSOR
A sensor that that can be, but do not have to be, communicatively coupled with luminaires, includes a sensor module having an electronics board and a battery enclosure. The electronics board includes a sensing component, a controller, and a flex antenna. The battery enclosure is couple with the electronics board and includes a base and a side wall having an outer wall surface. The flex antenna is supported on the outer wall surface such that the flex antenna forms a radially outermost portion of the sensor module, and the flex antenna is conformable to a profile of the outer wall surface. In certain aspects, the sensor module is configured to support a power source on the sensor module. In some cases, the sensor is an indoor sensor.
SEISMIC SENSOR AND EARTHQUAKE DETERMINATION METHOD
A seismic sensor includes a measurement unit configured to measure acceleration; an earthquake determination unit configured to determine whether or not an earthquake has occurred based on the acceleration measured in a predetermined determination period; an index calculator configured to calculate an index value indicating a scale of an earthquake in an earthquake processing period after the predetermined determination period, when the earthquake determination unit determines that an earthquake has occurred; a continuous earthquake determination unit configured to determine whether or not an earthquake has occurred, based on the acceleration measured in the earthquake processing period; and a shut-off determination unit configured to inhibit output of the shut-off signal regardless of the index value when the continuous earthquake determination unit determines that no earthquake has occurred.
