Covert surveillance using multi-modality sensing
The present specification discloses a covert mobile inspection vehicle with a backscatter X-ray scanning system that has an X-ray source and detectors for obtaining a radiographic image of an object outside the vehicle. The systems preferably include at least one sensor for determining a distance from at least one of the detectors to points on the surface of the object being scanned, a processor for processing the obtained radiographic image by using the determined distance of the object to obtain an atomic number of each material contained in the object, and one or more sensors to obtain surveillance data from a predefined area surrounding the vehicle.
Multi-scanner networked systems for performing material discrimination processes on scanned objects
The present application is directed toward cargo scanning systems having scanners, each arranged to scan a respective object and generate a set of scan data, processors arranged to process each set of scan data to determine whether it meets a predetermined threat condition, workstations, and data management system arranged to direct data that meets the threat condition to one of the workstations for analysis.
CT system and detection device for CT system
The present application discloses a CT system and a detection apparatus for the CT system. The detection apparatus includes: a high-energy detector assembly including a plurality of rows of high-energy detectors arranged along a predetermined trajectory; a low-energy detector assembly including a plurality of rows of low-energy detectors arranged at intervals along the predetermined trajectory, the low-energy detector assembly and the high-energy detector assembly being disposed in a stack; a number of rows of the low-energy detectors is smaller than a number or rows of the high-energy detectors; and each row of the low-energy detectors covers a row of high-energy detectors.
Security inspection device and transfer method therefor
The present disclosure relates to a security inspection device and a transfer method, and the security inspection device includes an arm frame, provided with detectors, and configured to form an inspection channel, a first compartment, internally provided with a radiation source and connected with the arm frame, a protection wall, connected with the first compartment or the arm frame, and configured to perform radiation protection for an object to be protected, and a tire, configured to enable the security inspection device to move relative to the ground, and the arm frame, the first compartment and the protection wall are set to be transported together in a connected state.
COMPACT BODY SCANNER
Imaging systems and methods are provided for detecting object that may be hidden under clothing, ingested, inserted, or otherwise concealed on or in a person's body. An imaging assembly and mechanisms for vertically moving the imaging assembly may be configured to reduce the overall form factor of such imaging systems, while still retaining an ability to perform full/complete imaging of a subject. A calibration system assembly can be included, comprising a first calibration assembly and second calibration assembly to perform fine-grained adjustments to the positioning of the X-ray detector.
Detection of crystallographic properties in aerospace components
Aspects of the disclosure are directed to an analysis of a material of a component. A radiation source is activated to transmit radiation to the component. A beam pattern is obtained based on the component interfering with the radiation. The beam pattern is compared to a reference beam pattern. An anomaly is detected to exist in the material when the comparison indicates a deviation between the beam pattern and the reference beam pattern.
Neutron activation and detection of hazardous, undesirable, or high value material
Provided herein are neutron-based detection systems and methods that provide, for example, high throughput analysis of elemental analysis of scrap materials. Such systems and methods find use for the commercial-scale evaluation of bulk process materials where hazardous or otherwise undesirable materials or high value materials may be interspersed with the primary process material. In certain embodiments, the system is used to detect and potentially remove unexploded ordinance (UXO) from a conveyor of demilitarized shell casings being recycled by detecting the presence of nitrogen and other elements present in the UXO. In other embodiments, the system detects and removes unwanted or highly valuable materials from a stream of scrap material.
Four-Sided Imaging System and Method for Detection of Contraband
The present invention provides a four-sided scanning system for vehicles that uses a combination of backscatter and transmission based X-ray imaging to achieve material discrimination. In one embodiment, the system is designed as a mobile, drive-through system, which can be folded and stowed in a truck and can be conveniently deployed at any place when required.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SCANNING ITEMS
A device, a method, and a kit for screening items of baggage. The device comprising: an x-ray scanner, configured to scan an item of baggage using x-ray radiation, and generate therefrom data indicative of objects within the item of baggage; a second scanner configured to estimate a volume of the item of baggage; a third scanner, configured to estimate a physical dimension of at least one object within the item of baggage, wherein the third scanner uses non-ionising radiation; and a processor, configured to utilize the data indicative of objects within the item of baggage, the estimated volume, and the estimated physical dimension of at least one object within the item of baggage to generate a risk estimation for the item of baggage.
Systems, apparatuses, and methods for measuring submerged surfaces
The present disclosure provides systems, apparatuses, and methods for measuring submerged surfaces. Embodiments include a measurement apparatus including a main frame, a source positioned outside a pipe and connected to the main frame, and a detector positioned outside the pipe at a location diametrically opposite the source and connected to the main frame. The source may transmit a first amount of radiation. The detector may receive a second amount of radiation, determine a composition of the pipe based on the first and second amounts of radiation, and send at least one measurement signal. A control canister positioned on the main frame or on a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) attached to the apparatus may receive the at least one measurement signal from the detector and convey the at least one measurement signal to software located topside.
